Segun Oluwaniyi
OM was willing to let Cana leave so they could bring in a superior player to replace him. (This ended up being M'Bia). The low price reflects this. Gervinho will cost a significant amount more.
Village Idiot
I recall OM's president being pretty dismissive of Cana's move. "Who are Sunderland?" and all that.

Segun Oluwaniyi
VI, the bottom line is that Deschamps did not like him and did not want him. Similar to HBA, the fans and the owners liked the player, but DD had no interest. Cana was a key part of Gerets' side, but he was no longer the manager
Village Idiot
Fair enough, you know that club way better than me. Still shows that a player may be tempted to move to a midtableish PL side from a top Ligue 1 one.
Dokko
Hows the FM legend Spanish RB settled in? Heard he struggled at first or was i dreaming that? Azp......
Segun Oluwaniyi
Hows the FM legend Spanish RB settled in? Heard he struggled at first or was i dreaming that? Azp...... Azpilicueta? Started off poorly and had a terrible time adjusting to a more physical league. Recovered from this and put in some very nice performances. Looked like he was going to be a very good signing, but then he tore his knee. Out until next season. Rod Fanni was signed to replace him.
Village Idiot
Hope he recovers well, cracking prospect for Spain.

joeyt
Thought I read somewhere that Gervinho's contract ran out Summer 2012? Maybe Lille won't be looking for such an expensive price for him

Nobody
Is there anything VI do not know? how messi would do on a cold wet tuesday night at stoke Who cares? The likelihood of that particular fixture being played on a Tuesday is so fucking small anyway. If he's brilliant the other 37 games, I'm sure he'd still be held in high regard. But yes, we do need a left winger, as the one we've got there now hasn't produced a goal since October.
