"And it has also emerged Newcastle have no interest in 27-year-old striker Craig Mackail-Smith, with Peterborough United confirming they had accepted a bid from a Premier League side."

Thank fuck for that.

Thank f*** for that.

He's off to Everton.

Going to have a Championship class strike force next season, literally.

Boukary Drame, Senegal left back at Sochaux, was moved to Newcastle who did not respond.

Out of contract at Sochaux (who just submit a new offer of extension), left-back Boukary Drame (25 years) has been proposed to Newcastle, but without success. If departure of the Spaniard Jose Enrique, especially followed by Liverpool and Birmingham, the Magpies prefer the track leading to the Toulouse M'Bengue Sheikh (22 years).

Also followed by Lille and Marseille, the former French international Hopes recently been a new proposal, estimated at six million euros. But the club president Olivier Sadran did not respond. Starting price: € 8 million.

If you click the original it says Lyon, same as Lorient comes out as Manchester City for some reason.

Just as Nice, Toulouse has checked the name of the left lateral Tunisian Aymen Abdennour to replace Sheikh M'Bengue on departure.

Sheikh M'Bengue on departure, Toulouse activated to search for his successor. The club led by Alain Casanova would be interested in the profile of the Tunisian side, Aymen Abdennour (23 years). TFC is not the only club to think the player's Etoile Sahel as Nice, which is also on the track leading to Fabian Monzon, and Turkish clubs have checked the name of Tunisia.

Looks like Toulouse are on the look out for a replacement.

Hardly ruling us out in this interview...

You've been with Toulouse quite a while. Your name is being constantly linked with Newcastle. Do you want to leave?

For now, I'm at Toulouse. I will see when I return to France. I'll let my agent handle that.

But we have already ruled him out according to the Chronicle. And if it's right that Enrique has decided to stay another year i dont think we will go for M'Bengue now.

Is this a problem with modern footballers, they just let their agents deal with everything, surely you would want to be involved ???

From that article:

M’Bengue, who is also being tracked by Marseille and Lille, is thought to be keen on the move to St James’ Park. But even though Pardew will be ruling nothing out at this early stage of the summer transfer window, he is not afraid to look elsewhere.

We've cooled the interest, not ruled him out.

Would love to think that's true - Enrique is staying, so rather than go for M'Bengue we have gone for Neil Taylor instead, as back up, but (hopefully) decent enough to come in when needed, and Young Ferguson can stay pushed forward.

Would be good if we could sign him this summer with a view to easing him into the first-team for when Jose goes next summer.

As we announced in Toulouse is about to enter the Tunisian side Aymen Abdennour. According to Tunisian radio, Mosaique.fm a formal agreement has even been found up to 500,000 euros on Tuesday evening.

To replace the likely departure of Sheikh M'Bengue (Newcastle), Toulouse has checked the name of the Tunisian side Abdennour Aymen, passed by Werder Bremen last season. Negotiations have progressed well and according Mosaique.fm a formal agreement has been reached between the same two clubs on Tuesday night to the tune of 500,000 euros. The player's Etoile Sahel should embark on a period of four years. However, he will end the season with his club.

http://www.mercato365.com/infos-clubs/marseille/article_535755_l1-marseille-Qui-pour-remplacer-Taiwo-.shtml

Just an article on the candidates Marseille will be looking at to replace Taiwo, mentions our failed €6m bid for M'Bengue and says the asking price is €8m which is too high for them.

Could you see us going that high? Wonder if we'll see a Liverpool Torres/Carroll style thing where what we finally offer for M'Bengue depends on how much we get for Enrique (if he goes).

I think we might raise it depending on what Jose goes for, but it's going to be another long drawn out one. Can't see anyone paying much more than what we've offered tbh.

I can see this being a deadline day thing myself. Enrique will play the first 2-3 games then someone will buy him, and we'll get M'Bengue.
