David Villa to Atleti: Atleti pays €2.1m now, €2m next season and if he remains with club in third year another €1m is paid. Total: €5.1m.

Weird if true. Thought Spurs were linked with a move in the region of 10m.

He's like 30? Will be surprised if Barca benefits from such a clause.

He's a massive name, could easily go to Qatar in some cash deal given their links with Barca.

What a f***ing bargain at that price, we just can't sell for s*** :anguish:

Can't believe Spurs haven't gone for this if their interest was real. Massive discount.

Most of the time you can't buy for s*** too.

Aye man, our transfer record overall is stuff of nightmares (except if you're an agent). Sometimes I wonder how the f*** can we be so successful.

Well yeah, the 3-4 best players at the club came from our youth ranks, we'll be f***ed when our luck runs dry.

Hopefully it'll be enough to keep Atleti semi-competitive next season. Only bought him, some kid from Uruguay and Baptistão from Rayo.

Problem with Villa is that his fitness has declined drastically after his year-long injury, coupled with age. He's not a player that you can start both the weekend and then midweek CL ties. He usually was winded at around min 60 in any demanding fixture this year.

Other than that, he's still an excellent player. Atlético only need one of Adrián and Baptistao to come good this season to have enough upfront to get by.

Kone  :anguish:

Solid signing for yous, no?

He's an ok player but it's a terrible signing financially. We can't afford to sink £5m on a 30 year old and not see a penny of the fee back. Heard he's going to be on 40/50k a week too.

What I said from the very moment we were linked with him. Wonder what kaka makes of this post.

So Spur's 'ridiculous bid' for Villa was rejected by Barca immediately.

Bet they must have proposed to get him on a free and set a deadline for it.
