Still why its imperative we get some none Alan Smith back up for him. Why not ?? the stated aim is to buy with resale value, even at £15 Mill "if" he comes off, he's still carrying a likely hefty profit. Don't forget amortisisation (sp?) as well, player book value reduces over time so a "profit" can be made even if selling at the same price or less even. Very good player, remember him impressing me in the Olympic Games in Beijing when I think he was the captain of the team. Then again haven't watched 30 games of him like some n here appear to have. But from the possibly 10 games, he's a very good player, not Drogba-esque or Ben Arfa-vs.Everton-esque but would definitely help make us a regular top 8 side if we keep the same core of players and sign him and a striker.
