What seems to happen now is the four interested parties ( the buying club, the selling club, the player and his agent) just piss around all month playing mind games via the media and then play chicken on deadline day. Skipping the four week long mind games bit isn't going to make much difference to the end result.

Surely doing it in the last couple of days pushes the price up  :dontknow:

Not if the club are desperate to get the player out.

Wouldn't we know that though, i know Debuchy isn't the same but we knew he wanted out and his club knew too. Done.

I mean surely the agents and the club would let us know if they wanted rid, unless they're trying to push the money up no matter how much it irritates the player.

For the sake of saving a million or two, United are locked into a long process on Rémy.

Fans get frustrated but the board believe that their negotiating stance makes sense – and point out that if they paid over the valuation for every player, they would be on a road to financial ruin.

Shocking...

Quick question: how much do we get on gate receipts per home game?

Matchday revenue on the last set of accounts was £24.3m for 20 home games, so £1.2m per match.

Sort of puts their argument to bed then, on top of all the other revenue we get, pretty sure we could afford a million here and there

Any idea of the costs?

Not specifically, but non-wages/salary costs were £18.7m.

Was hoping it would be a bit lower than that. Meh.
