Dave
N-O Exclusive - Marv just told my mate that he won't be an NUFC player next season. Marveaux that is, not my mate. I was skeptical, but then he said he was wearing a leather hoody and I had no choice but to believe.
Ikon
If he can prove his fitness from now on i would build my team around him in the AMC position. Personally i really do rate him that highly. Keep the ball on the deck and play positive football and i think he would score more points than any of our other players, maybe HBA would be close. Would be very unhappy and sad if he leaves us, would fucking idiotic.
Kanj
He's a real classy player who should be given the ACM role in our team. Give him license to get around the pitch and create at will. He's a lovely dribbler and his decision making with the ball is excellent, and also - get him some chances to get that left peg a chance to strike at goal. He has a great left foot that could be worth 5-8 goals a season if he was on the pitch more. In an ideal world I'd have Sylvain and HBA given free reign to roam about the pitch and create and punish defenses with their dribbling, passing, and deadly left foots. Unbelievable
Like Hatem, he is far too injury prone to build the team around..
Ikon
Hatem injury prone? One bad muscle injury?
Ronaldo
True, but nobody suggested that.

Ronaldo
Hatem's injury prone, and Marveaux, as much as I think his left foot is the best weapon at the club, is Mr Glass.
Ikon
Read my post again then..As regarding HBA i think it's very harsh to call him injury prone.
Ronaldo
Marveaux should never be given that responsibility. He's a must against teams we need to open up and is obviously a better player than some who consistently start.
Kanj
I seriously hope this is Sylvain's time to finally prove his fitness, not that he's got anything in his locker to suggest he will be fit this season. His skillset is vital for our creation of chances, and his left foot is fucking brilliant. He's a first 11 player for me until we sign someone better/more reliable to play in attacking CM's role. AyeDubbleYoo
The problem is how to accommodate him. IMO he can't play wide, and he can't play as a CM because he's physically weak. Free role or AM is his position, so do we think he would work as the furthest forward of a midfield 3? Assuming HBA is also playing.
Ronaldo
He'd work better than anyone else we have there.
AyeDubbleYoo
Don't disagree, just chewing the fat. We have a load of options for a good midfield three - Anita/Sissoko/Cabaye/Marveaux/Tiote could almost all play in any combination. Even Jonas is passable there. Jagten
Nah - I think he can play on the wing. I don't think it's his best position, but his best games for us have come out there - Fulham (h), Anzhi (h).
Ronaldo
Even Jonas is passable there. Unless we want to win.
Kanj
Asking for opinions here...but if we were to allow Marv and HBA to drift and roam about behind Cisse with a strong CM(s) partnership of Cabaye, Sissoko and one of Tiote/Anita and then have Santon and Debuchy as backs overlapping wide, could we not be OK with that? This assumes Mapou and Colo at CB allowing Mapou to use his pace to cover some of the space left when one of the backs are far up the pitch. I know a ton of what-ifs here, but to me that seems like one of our better options. I guess the rebuttal is AP wouldn't be able to create or implement a fluid system like this. With that kind of system the whole side has to know what is going on at all times in a match and in all situations. It comes from bedding down the system in pre-season as it takes a while to gel and build understanding. Unless a manager is really visionary about implementing such a system and sticks with it through thick and thin they don't work.

Ronaldo
I love the Ancelotti system but it relies a little too much on the unreliable in our case. With another couple of players brought in I'd love to see it at SJP though.
