London 2012: Mexico win Olympic football gold

Recommended Posts

The Senegalese were going in full pelt even when they clearly had no chance of getting to the ball first. The ref didn't have the courage to deal with it.

Ramsey is our best all round central midfield player. Is there a particular reason why he's not starting?

The curse of the British game much in evidence - passes played slightly behind the receiver because the passer didn't have the confidence to play it into their stride. The result - we end up going backwards.

And that was a f***ing terrible effort.  Championship players in our Olympic team uuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh

Was trying to think else they could have picked and came up a blank tbh but surely there is better out there or is it just a symptom of no quality upfront in the PL that is English at the mo, much like the Euros.

And that is it.  Shocking.

If Scotland cooperated Jordan Rhodes would surely have been an option

Aye, but they played the bitter card with the men despite them allowed their womenfolk to play for GB.

actually

Graeme Bailey ‏@SkyGraemeBailey

And BTW Jordan Rhodes was one of four players confirmed by Fifa on GB stand-by list, meaning Pearce actually preferred Sordell.  :idiot2:

Didn't know that.

Fuck me, why not call any Jocks up then?

And at least with Rhodes he's not going to be rusty as fuck.

Ramsey ain't starting as Pearce is a clueless manager.

PL-tastic, this sort of shit drives me mental at the match.

If the ref had more about him we probably would have won that match, and they would have had one or two sent off. Having said that, senegal did play well and created more chances than us by far so we deserve what we got in the end...

Anybody actually watched Rhodes? He's not that great.

Goodwillie plays for Scotland ahead of him.

Only the TV games and he always scored in those, difficult to tell at that level but he is a decent finisher.

Good goalscorer but always looks like an absolutely gash footballer.

Yeah, from the little bits i saw he was never really involved in the build up to goals, just always in the right place to finish, not a bad knack to have mind.

Giggs was atrocious in that game.

Pearce is a dinosaur, gutted he's anywhere near our international set up.

Its quite bemusing that he's so far up and thought of in the FA.

He is carried along by Man Utd, put him in a poor team and he'll be found out massively.

Worries me when he is mentioned as a future England manager and is being groomed for it.
