The amouont of anger and stupidity being released over nonsense has been absurd of late. It's a twitter post, ffs. We will sign the player or we won't sign the player. The Cissokho and Maiga threads are embarassing as well. It is like no one has ever followed football transfers. Most of you haven't heard of any of these three before this week (seeing as we weren't leinked until this week), and are angry that we haven't signed the players already. Calm yourself. Be angry when it makes sense to be angry.

It'll make sense to be angry if we go into the derby without the two players we desperately need.

Nice O0 :harry:

Suppose that does tie in with the news breaking about our alleged interest/bid with Cissokho (sat 13th).

How is it absurd? We need a striker and a left back quick as fuck, but still we're haggling over £1-2 m. We're really not in any position to sit back and be cheap cunts about people coming in. And what does it matter that some people haven't heard about Cissokho and/or Maiga? People who don't knew them have been given enough information about them to make up an opinion. It's not like you have to know players before you are linked to them, to have any say. It makes sense to be angry already - but there sure is room for more anger later on.

The panic is on because we play SAFC this weekend, if it was any other team it would be groans and moans and the usal "ffs ashley get a move on" but because it the mackems people are getting twitchy.

I dont blame the tbh.

Baba, as usual you're talking absolute sense. The way people analyse and dissect every tweet, press link and comment is borderline mental.

If we've played 18 games without a left-back and not 2-3 games, I'll be pessimistic.

One of those 2-3 games is the joint most important game of the season.

Defeat doesn't mean we'll automatically have a bad season if we sign a left-back a few days later will it? End of the day it'd be an away defeat to a mid-table Premier League side, not relegation.

Same way a win isn't going to have us finishing top 4 if we sign a left-back afterwards either.

We've gone from having one of the best left backs in the league (thankfully with a pretty good injury record considering there was no cover) to having none. No wonder Ashley thinks he can keep getting rid of our best players if people are happy to just brush it off thinking we'll cope. 18 games is half the season!

That's what I've said. If we've not signed someone after the first 2-3 games I'll be pessimistic having to play 18 games without one.
