You're not accounting for the wages, agent fees, taxi to pick players up from the airport (plus 50p tip), cost to print new players shirts etc. Not to mention the extensive tarmac work and geothermic bore holes this summer. When you add that in £8m for a left back is not going to happen.

Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
Pieters lack of pace is a massive weakness in this league which will be highlighted far more frequently in thie premier league than in the Eredivisie. I have watched him a few times now, through highlights and clips and whilst looking relatively consistent, he hasnt come up against a Lennon, Walcott, Valencia type player and he will struggle. Our defensive strength last year was teams inability to break us down on the left meaning most trouble came down the right, and we could pre-empt it. I have just got a feeling based on what i have seen that he is not a premier league player, whilst Cissokho has all of the attributes including pace and power to be a success Hope im wrong Most mid table clubs' left backs will struggle against those kind of qualities in players. I considered that as i was writing We had one last year that didnt. Didnt Pardew say there was no point letting a player go if you couldnt improve on him? Joe_F
It is understood that Newcastle are ready to make up the difference in performance related add-ons but Lyon want the money up front No doubt our realistic bargaining position is we'll give 'em an extra £1mill if we get in the Champions League and pay the whole £10 Mill if we win the Premiership. TRon
I think we've made a decent offer there if it's true. Maybe we need a title change as it's clear we aren't set to meet their asking price.

Guest
This, Maiga and the Nasri to City talk are three of the biggest transfer stories over there at the moment. Mike's idea of getting his Sports Direct brand over there is in full swing.
