So is he a tall target man style? I thought we'd be in for a small quick footed striker.

More a left sided attacker.

Shouldn't we be looking at out and out strikers tho?

Theoretically we have the big, target man role filled with Ba and Shola.

What we desperately need though is pace and movement up top, Best is by far the most mobile striker we have which is an absolutely disgraceful situation for us to be in. Hoping that if this is genuine then this lad will give us some pace up top.

Desperation signing. Doesn't fall in line with recent reports that Pardew is looking local for a striker?

Yeah, 'reports' have been spot on so far

Can we not just join Ligue 1? We'd probably finish in the Champions League places there.

Let's hope he doesn't spend 11 and a half months of the year in Clarefontaine for us then.

Seems a bit underhanded that he's complaining about not getting a pay rise despite only having been there for a year.

Another greedy c*** then, should fit right in :snod:

Not too dissimilar to the Carroll siuation really is it? Brilliant season last year by the looks of things and I doubt he's on that much so can't blame him for wanting a payrise or new club.

Negatives:

1. He's our fourth-choice striker target from the French league.

2. Two strikers gone during the ACN

3. Only had 1 good season, unsure if he's any good.

Positives:

NEW SIGNING :fwap:

£8m seems a lot to me like.

Yeah, eerily similar really. Stats seem to indicate that he wasn't up to much at Le Mans and Sochaux were the ones who gave him his big break.

I can understand why they'd be majorly pissed off, but as long as it benefits us who cares I suppose.

8m Euro so closer to 5~6m pounds.

Also, we're desperate.

According to this conversion, it'd be nearer £7m

NUT could teach the press a thing or two about breaking a story like, or at least how to use google's news feed.
