Davide Santon (now retired)

Don't think that has ever happened, no.

Yeah, looking around it doesn't appear so.  Maybe I'm thinking of someone else, or possibly read an article about him maybe eventually playing centre half since he's six foot two.  I think maybe he played centre half in a pre-season game that I watched though.  What an incredibly boring ramble.

No airplanes to Newcastle from Italy today.

Go on, numpty?

Lucky for us that there are 10000 other airports in Europe.

You're missing the point mate, taxfree was saying why he'd be flying to London rather than Newcastle today.

Be a good signing this even if a new RB is not exactly top of our priorities. Let's hope he is a tad better than the last young Italian full back we bought from Inter.

I suppose the good thing if he's right footed is if Ferguson does hit it off at left back then we can just move Santon across to right back. Voila two cush full backs for the price of one. I can see Ashley loving that.

I think he is stronger at right back but can play left back...ideal scenario would be him and Pieters or Cissohko (sp?) coming in, but if Santon comes in at left back and can cover for right back every now and again then im more than game...a 2-footed full back of quality, fantastic!
