how the fuck is this allowed btw?

Wonder who Mike Dean wants to win.

He doing city leicester?

He actually is

He's from the fucking wirral isn't he?

Supports Tranmere according to this - https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36075347

But seemingly not allowed to ref Liverpool since 2006.......

edit:

Dean was originally appointed to referee the 2006 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium on 13 May 2006 but the Football Association later replaced him with Alan Wiley after concerns were raised about Dean's ability to be impartial towards Liverpool

The same way how the other ref from manchester (forgot his name) is allowed to referee city and man utd despite coming from altrincham.

Very fishy.

I still find it odd how we can have a referee referee us against Huddersfield, despite being from Huddersfield and a fan of theirs. We had Jeff Winter a lot despite him being a Boro fan. The Manchester teams get the referee from Manchester, including for the derby.

Yet we were never allowed a referee from Newcastle, despite both of them being probably the best referee’s in the league.

Absolutely nothing better on this forum than fans of ours trying to randomly beat the they know the rules card and that one of our guys should have been booked and we were lucky Bullshit.

If Trent shouldn't be red carded then where is the deterrent for outfield players saving goals on the line? If the ref plays advantage and doesn't come back to the incident then you go unpunished? Especially towards the end of a tight game, players may as well try to save it with their hands.

Only two half decent refs at the min are Oliver and Taylor, the rest are f***ing garbage and or corrupt.

Taylor is from Manchester yet allowed to ref Man Utd and Man City games because he says he supports Altrincham.

Aye the moment Marriner somehow managed to make it even more obvious than Mike Dean does against us

Nout dodgy going on at all.

A reminder of why I don't follow any football subreddits

This seems to be the worst year ever for poor refereeing. And with every bad decision, comes the repeated chorus "can't wait for VAR". I wonder if the two are linked.

Not at all. The referee’s are just useless and corrupt. Hasn’t one former referee already and came out said he was told that you are deciding what’s entertaining, not a sport?

VAR will change nothing. Last nights goal would still have stood as they either wouldn’t go back and review the free kicks itself, or justify giving it because they sensed intent to foul the player.

Something needs to be done, it’s the same referee’s game after game, and not just for us either.

Today he went out and made sure Liverpool were getting the points.

It's so transparent, and realising that us being done by referees so consistently is not just some irrational fan bias but is borne out by hard statistics and facts, makes you wonder if one day the real truth will come out and a massive corruption stink will be discovered ?

Because we scored immediately after I can sort of understand the Alexander-Arnold thing, but he should've been booked, but wasn't. The Fabinho dive though, fucking hell, so bad. Could tell from my seat that it was a dive yet the bald nonce of a linesman 5 feet away couldn't see it. Awful. Warnock was right.

I’m just sick and tired of points lost this season due to referees blatantly missing fouls, yellows, and clear cut reds. It’s insanity. We likely would be 6-8 pts higher by my quick guess.

VAR doesn't have to change anything, it just needs to be implemented for the developers to make their money. They are corrupt through choice, and always have been, but it has spiked this season, resulting in a lot of changed opinions in relation to VAR. It will now be introduced to a footballing public with a welcoming sense of hope, rather than suspicion.
