Yh and i find that a problem because he simply isnt one, its a case of square pegs in round holes to get by. We are not seeing the best of him, but I do agree its a bit early to decide whether he is doing this on his own or has been deployed this way. For all the stick Pardew gets, I`ll wait a bit with nailing him with this one. Either way he was brought here hopefully to mimic what he was doing at Lille, which is a far cry from what he is doing for us at the moment. If he is not meant to sit that deep, Pardew would have called him out on it and told him to move further up the field. He hasnt, and despite the fact that Cabaye has been remarkably mediocre for the past few months pardew still hails him as a pivotal player for us, leading me to suspect he is doing excactly what Alan wants him doing. I assume the 'possession won in defence' stat is the one you're pinpointing. With the 4-4-2 that we usually play, the wide men are expected to help the full backs. It hints at what lots of us have speculated on - that either Hatem needs to adjust (and I don't think he's that bad at defending), or he needs to play further forward (didn't seem to work too well) or we change to a 4-3-3. Yep. From that i read it as potentially a lot of the choice being made for the right wing being based around whos best at helping out Simpson. In fact, as I'm doing my internship in the Ministry of Sports in Paris, I share my office with someone who is in charge of the high level professional sports and she showed me the access to the French sportsmen personal details... She asked me if I wanted to enter/know things about a sportsman I liked and chose Ben arfa. I thought I was going to see HBA's adress in Newcastle but there was just this former one in Lyon and a number. Shame they didn't update it! For the others informations,haveto keep them secrete... The forward has made 19 appearances this season for the Magpies, but only five of those have been in the starting line-up for Premier League fixtures. He came off the bench at half-time last weekend against Sunderland and was outstanding in a wide right role as United came from behind to secure a point in the Tyne-Wear derby. Now Pardew hopes Ben Arfa can finish the campaign on a high, starting at Arsenal on Monday night, and believes the 25-year-old can add to his eight international caps for Les Bleus. "You have to deserve the starts. You have to earn the right to deserve to start," said the boss. "And he (Ben Arfa) deserved the right to come on at half-time (against Sunderland) because his training has picked up significantly. "Around the corner for Hatem is the European Championships, and I wouldn't rule him out of that. So if I'm not ruling him out of that, I'm not going to rule him out of my team. "He's beggining to understand what you need to do to play at Newcastle. He was magnificent on Sunday, and there is a good chance he could play on Monday night." As for France i dont see why not if he impresses, Blanc loves him and its not like the players in the positions he plays are any better or in better form.....
