Surely having two 'purples' in the centre-half position is financially viable when one of ours spends at least half the season injured and one of our backups is looking further and further out of his depth while at the same time we're taking on extra games? I suspect part of the reason Danny Simpson wants to leave is because he is not considered to be 'purple' and therefore doesn't earn as much as other first team regulars. We've got no problems in that area now because most of our players are at the best club they'll ever be at and they know it. Same with the bigger clubs stock piling youngsters.
