So was the early hoofball more instruction from Pards, or just sheer lack of composure from the players? People seem to be intimating it was more of a tactic.

 

Looked like it was more due to the static midfield. Ryan Taylor out wide was offering no movement whatsoever, and Jonas was still looking poor out there as he has been for a little while now. Cabaye and Guthrie had too much to do and weren't handling itwell it seemed.

It's possible.  Their midfield was sitting deep and trying to intercept everything and we didn't seem to have the plan to counter it. 

 

Things look good now though, hope we slaughter them.

The QPR players came out of the blocks like they were trying to impress their new manager.  As the play settled, we took control and bar a few moments (largely of our own making) we have been comfortable.  HBA has made a difference since coming on, as Cabaye seemed to be playing more defensively.
