midds
Rangers still owe Hearts about £800k from the sale of Lee Wallace this summer. Dunfermline and Dundee Utd both due about £90k each too from Rangers. All unlikely to get anywhere near what they're owed... Conniving wankers. Guest Roy the Irish Magpie
Weren't Celtic in a very similar position financially in the 90s when rangers won 9 in a row?

Celtic had a lot of debt because of the expansion of Celtic Park in the 90's. but they were still struggling like rangers are now. So its a classic case of karma for all the gers fans who were laughing at Celtic during that time. What goes around truely does come around.

That's taxpayer money that Rangers are fucking about with there. That's schools and hospitals at stake. If Rangers go under, so too will the SPL. And Celtic fans will have the smug grins wiped off their faces quick smart when Sky/ESPN pull out of the television contract and the money carpet is pulled from under their business viability too... Mick
I wonder how many less trophies would have been won if they hadn't racked up all of the debt. A 10 point deduction isn't anywhere enough when it will have no bearing on anything. Clubs who have £millions in debt written off should be relegated down a division. What they've been at for far far too long is basically fraud. I'd throw them out the league. Completely. But that isn't practicable or realistic for fairly obvious reasons, already stated above. midds
Sounds like they've basically sacrificed a title they weren't going to win this year to wipe their 10 year debt out during which time they won shit loads. They need to be made an example of.

Slugsy
Completely agree with above posts, they have basically cheated and stole off the taxpayer and other clubs to fund success and may get away relatively lightly. I just saw the First Minister giving a totally blinkered view of the situation that tells me that regardless of what they have done, a way around it will be found. Guest
Hopefully this is the beginning of a total clean-up. Same applies with Pompey. They basically won the FA Cup and became a mid-table Premier League team by spending way beyond their means.

Rangers scumbags wouldn't stop the abuse for every one of them years and laughed at Celtic's debt no matter what it meant and had no sympathy the horrible bastards. But now who's laughing eh? even if the league gets worst Celtic will still be the team on top of the rest. At the end of the day it's Celtic who are havin the last laugh and the rangers scum are getting their come upping, fuck anything else. 14 points ahead yup yup. As long as they let clubs hide behind limited liability and shift the 'club' to a new company, this sort of thing will always go on. Clubs should be licenced, and licencees should be ring-fenced and policed. Creative finanancing will always happen, but at the very least the club itself should be firewalled from it.
