Tiresias
Transfers or no transfers, what do the team need to work on to make sure we keep it going 1. More resolve once we go behind We never once came to win after going behind, fortunately we didn't go behind too often but this is perhaps the most worrying thing about our squad. We also tended to concede more goals once one goes in, presumably because of heads dropping somewhat. If we can arrest this then we wouldn't have those slightly embarrassing scorelines that crippled our goal difference this season. 2. Passing We have shown what we can do when we pass it around and play good football, but the problem is that we would sometimes switch between 'systems' and lose all passing accuracy in an attempt to find a plan b. Lets get some good training drills in and get everyone comfortable passing it on the floor, particulaly Krull who needs to launch attacks along the ground rather than punting it up-field. 3. Set-pieces We haven't scored anywhere near enough from set pieces, our defenders should have had way more headed goals than they did. We've scored some lovely free kicks but have we actually scored a header from one? Anyone got any others?
Guest BooBoo
More goal input frm midfield and defence. Our midfield return was at best average and defence chipped in with two between them, both by Ryan Taylor. Not good enough and I was pleased to hear Pards saying he wants to address this. Stifler
Why does Krul come 40-50 yards out of goal to take free kicks? Why is Krul's kicking generally poor? Why do we leave ourselves exposed at set pieces by sending both our centre halfs forward? Why do when we concede and lose a game do we get hammered and not actually lose narrowly? Why do when we concede and lose a game do we get hammered and not actually lose narrowly? because as we are in possession it's an idea to send the best headers of the ball forward, also should the oppo break it's probably best to have the more mobile defensive players to cover (ie full backs or defensive midfileder). pretty frigging basic really. Jayson
What was the last game we won from behind in the league, anyone know it? Im sure i read it was a ridiculous amount of games not long back.

Jack Flash
Stop smashing the ball up to Cisse. It's infuriating because we all know it wont work. Those crap free kicks that are aimed at Williamson EVERY TIME. We just don't have the players for it. Real stadium sponsorship. An effective plan b for when we're getting battered 3-0 after 20 mins. Skirge
Krul's kicking under pressure. Reduce the number of back passes to Krul putting him under pressure, its an easy fix anyway and it will be fixed as soon as Williamson is replaced in the starting lineup. Guest Realist
movement. it may have been tiredness but we seemed to get more static in our passing game towards the end of the season. squad rotation/ blooding youngsters. pards has to rotate the squad more with Europa League coming soon and it'll be interesting to see how he handles his selections. short corners. get fucked. Skirge
Pick a formation and stick with it, only change it for tough away games if needed, I say 4-3-3 is our future and sign players with this formation in mind.

Mole_Toonfan
Yh Passing, better winning mentality and make better use of set pieces for me too....... the rest of it can be improved with some signings in key areas.

BONTEMPI
Ditch 4-4-2 and play to our players ability's. Sign 3-4 quality 1st teamers and 2 squad fillers. Install more fight if we go behind.

More goals from midfield and defence as mentioned. Improved delivery from set pieces. More goals and real chances from set pieces.

What? do you ever see the likes of Man U get battered ( City game aside) once they go 1-0 down like we have on many times this season..... its clear we need to learn how to deal with going behind better than we do at the moment. BTW we will get more goals from midfield if we stay away from 4-4-2 as our midfielders are reduced to holding players in that system.

Spot on. thats not a winning mentality, thats having a better team, if so what happened to their winning mentality this season ? we do have to work out why we collapse after going behind (personally i think it's often pardew changing things to early after conceding) but that has sod all to do with the ficticous winning mentality. Skeletor
Ball retention no matter what the formation is, being tighter away from home (so that we don't have so many heavy beatings next season) and set pieces. Also when we're cruising against teams I'd like us to have no mercy and get 4 or 5 rather than just seeing the game out.
