Jack Flash
He's wasting the best squad we've had in 10 years. Why put Cisse on the wing? Why put Shola on the wing and not use his aerial ability? Why bring 2 defensive midfielders on? Why take Ferguson off just when he was starting to look dangerous? I hope for his sake the next 3 league games are easier then they look. JH
At least now he's got a fortnight to sit down and figure out some solutions: - Why is he persisting with a formation that doesn't work, forcing him into changing the set up after half the game? - Why are we so slow out of the blocks? - Why are so many of our players out of form and/or seemingly unmotivated? - What can be done to improve our woeful set plays? - Where is the goal threat other than Ba? He's had seven weeks to work out half of that.

We changed to 433, it was Cisse or Ba to outwide. Same goes for Shola. Bigi came on for Tiote. Not sure if Anita is particularly a defensive midfielder. Hardly wasting the squad with 7 games gone, stop being such a fuxking drama queen.

Hardly wasting the squad with 7 games gone, stop being such a fuxking drama queen. It was always 4-3-3. Cisse was always out wide until Shola came on. That worked perfectly again. Anita came on at 2-0 when we should have been going for it, not playing for a 2-0. He was awful btw. We've played badly/average all season. No sign of any change in the league. Negativity or truth? Guest
I don't think it's particularly the system per se that's the problem, but there's an attitude thing. For example, against Everton we started 4-3-3, then went 4-4-2 and we improved when we were behind, today it was vice versa.
Parky
He started messing around with the team too much at West Ham 2nd season iirc. [/startsunfoundedrumour]
BONTEMPI
Unless he's going to see the light and fuck off with the 4-4-2 bollocks then ultimately we're going nowhere other than mid table. Ba and Cisse together simply doesn't work, so packing another midfielder in to get control makes more sense. Would love to see at somepoint Krul Santon Taylor Colo Fergie Tiote Jonas Ben Arfa Cabaye Anita Ba\Cisse
Guest BooBoo
The Wigan game last season was pretty seismic. It seems he's been wary of playing open expansive football ever since that thrashing. We've been timid ever since that horror show.
Jack Flash
Sticking a 20 goal a season striker on the wing didn't work last season and it's not working this season. 20+ games of this and still no hint of change.

No it wasnt at all, we were 442 and we were just about to change it when they scored from the corner (HBA was giving out the instructions at the corner they scored from). Yes, we've played poorly so far this season, but today we were beaten by one of the best in Europe and apart from the first 20minutes we actually put in a decent performance. Lets see how the next 4 or 5 go.

For example, against Everton we started 4-3-3, then went 4-4-2 and we improved when we were behind, today it was vice versa. The 4-4-2 at Everton had the wingers on their natural side and is therefore not even vaguely comparable to the narrow unbalanced 4-4-2 we went out with today (and nearly all season). Tooj
I'd say it was a 4-5-1 at Everton.

Guest BooBoo
It's a dilemma in that if we refer back to that formation, we risk upsetting poor Ba.

Not really arsed if it works on an individual level, we won, what, six games on the trot? Getting the best out of both 20 goal a season strikers would do most of the leg work in our season tbh. If we can't get them playing/scoring together then we need to play somebody on the wing who knows what he's doing.
