Ronaldo
I still think its a little unfair comparing Cisse and Gouffran's finishing ability when Gouffran is playing in a position Cisse really struggled to score in. Gouffran was a 1 in 2 striker for the 2 seasons before joining us wasn't he? I'd throw him in now tbh but if Cisse doesn't pick up fast Gouffran definitely deserves a run as a centre forward then we can really judge who is the better finisher. Not exactly, no. Cajun
It was close to that wasn't it? I read he had 8 in 20 before he joined us in January.
Gallowgate Toon
He was just over 1 in 2 in his last 18 months at Bordeaux.
Ronaldo
It was close to that wasn't it? I read he had 8 in 20 before he joined us in January. 14 in 34 the season before that. So not quite 1 in 2.
Cajun
Sorry I didn't realise anyone was going to be so pedantic... I still think its a little unfair comparing Cisse and Gouffran's finishing ability when Gouffran is playing in a position Cisse really struggled to score in. Gouffran was scoring at a very respectable rate for the 2 seasons before joining us wasn't he? I'd throw him in now tbh but if Cisse doesn't pick up fast Gouffran definitely deserves a run as a centre forward then we can really judge who is the better finisher. Ronaldo
8 goals combined in the 2 seasons before that mind.
Cajun
8 goals combined in the 2 seasons before that mind. That was when he spent the majority on the wing though wasn't it? I seem to remember French journalists saying he had come on massively since he was moved centrally.
Ronaldo
Honestly, I don't know mate. I think his finishing is inferior to Cisse's, anyway.
The College Dropout
Cisse has scored 4 league goals (correct me if i'm wrong) in 2013. The same amount as Gouffran who managed so in less minutes and not often at CF.
KaKa
Don't worry guys we'll just wait until Cisse gets injured, and then maybe he'll get the chance he deserves up front. That is the tactical genius of Pardew.

KaKa
Actually like this guy being used out wide. Pop him out wide and play Remy upfront then. Either way Cisse needs to sit for a bit, maybe that will light the fire under him again. His hold out over the summer over the stupid Wonga logo, which set him back, and his subsequent poor start, should have him coming off the bench for now. Think its worth trying. but sadly some (inochi) believe its blasphemy because we just had the most impressive win ever over aston villa, therefore changes are not allowed. Putting Gouffran into the side will change the whole dynamic of the front 3. It might need to be tried, but tbh I can understand why Pardew is reluctant to change it just yet. Cisse still looks more of a natural CF than Gouffran, and Remy looks a better bet out wide.
BrettNUFC
It's a needless risk/gamble at this present moment in time when things just worked out so well at Villa. This side should be given time to gel together.

Gouffran isn't played as a natural forward, if he looked more of one at the moment then he wouldn't be playing the position he is being put in He looked more of a goalscorer when he timed his run and put away that shot perfectly on Saturday as Cisse was being more of 'a natural CF' standing in an offside position though

He can run the channels and has the odd trickery too. He can do the job for us there no doubt. And Remy can provide the goals and movement in the middle which we have lacked for quite a while. AyeDubbleYoo
I understand people's reservations about Cisse, but I wouldn't move Remy from the left right now. For the Hull game, stick with the same team and hopefully Cisse will end up with a couple of goals to give him a boost. I think on balance it would be the wrong time to drop him.
