Cheshire Mag
Saw the most unbelievable 10/10 Ukrainian bird in the club shop before the match with a very average Eastern european looking man. Lucky sod. Probably the worst part of the night 10/10 Eastern European girls always end up with average Eastern European men. No justice, tbh. Dave
Is there anywhere I can legally see the offside decisions? I've looked at the official uefa highlight video and they are not on there. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/video_audio/193165.html
Keefaz
http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/3526/cisseoffside.jpg Not really conclusive, like.
ujpest doza
2nd one is definately offside like now i've seen replays. 1t one wasn't but at full tilt was impossible to call.
Conjo
f***ing hell. From the other thread. http://i.imgur.com/khU5rXQ.png It´s not so clear cut as it looks in that picture. Bear in mind that the Metalist defeder is on his way up, while Sissoko is in full speed forward as the pass is made. People went on last night like I was saying it wasn´t offside. Im just saying it wasn´t necessarily as easy to judge as some people make it out to be. I still think the second disallowed goal was the correct decision. Unless someone can give me clear cut photo evidence on the contrary. The refs had an ok game imo. Last season we had quite a few goals against us disallowed that should have stood, in the premier league, with english refs. It happens. This time we suffered. Dave
In a top level match you don't really get much clearer than that.

Memphis
First one was incredibly obvious, or should have been to any competent top-level linesman. Second one was much more questionable, and in fact, I think he was slightly off myself. Very very close but here: http://s12.postimage.org/oelzr71ul/cisse2ndsmall.jpg If you judge by the darker grass line, his knee and leg look to be barely off. Couldn't argue it either way, really. cp40
did they change the rule about clear daylight? that is all of the attacker has to be past the defender?
Shearergol
did they change the rule about clear daylight? that is all of the attacker has to be past the defender? That was never an official rule. It was just a suggestion to linesmen because they're basically all shit and were making the decision a bit late. bowlingcrofty
Surely if it's as close as that one then benefit of the doubt goes to Cisse? Linesman has to be 100% sure he's offside. 24 hours later, with TV replays, we're still not 100% sure.

Guest bimpy474
This how we are taught as ref's. "any part of his head, body or feet is nearer to his opponents goal" As i was told and understand it, meaning any body part of the player that he can score with. Fwiw. Tiresias
I don't even fucking care, the first one was definately onside and would have changed the game anyway

In real time, no fucking way is that clear Aye, its no where near clear. I actually think the 2nd decision is worse that the first. My reasoning is the first one is always hard imo, as the defender steps up in a split second as the ball is played. In that though, that's why ref and the assistants are now professional so they should get those right. The 2nd decision was worse for me as it's clear and the players are moving in the same direction and the lino is just looking across the line at players moving the same way. It's always harder to see the ball played, see the attacking player moving forward just as the defender steps up, just imo like.
