Lotus
He was absolutely fine defensively in the PL, though. Could never be trusted to get tight to his man. Gets turned too easily. Good positionally though as long as he stays back. Glad he's here, like.
joeyt
Proper skinned one of their players with a lush fake cross/turn tonight to set up a chance in the first half
DJ_NUFC
He was absolutely fine defensively in the PL, though. Except for all those times he wasn't. He's a reliable, limited, albeit capable defender most of the time, but to say he was "absolutely fine" is propaganda of the silliest kind. Done well for Rafa and I hope he continues. Ronaldo
'All those times he wasn't' being which games? Bit sad that people still need an easy target to take shots at. We got much better defensively when he returned last season and he's generally been very good this campaign.

He's not glamorous but yeah, he's easily good enough for this division and was at least fine last year.
Nobody
Was painful watching him yesterday like. Been standing up for him, saying he's decent enough defensively to be allowed to be carried with his lack of technique on the ball. Obviously isn't helped by having Gouffran in front of him, but we really need to sort that left hand side out ASAP. Lazaar needs to be given a run of games and we need to sign a proper winger, sick of having to watch Dummett struggle to handle a simple pass. MSC26
He's too slow in his decision making, he's very flat footed when receiving the ball. Always seems nervous and panicked with the ball at his feet. The only redeeming feature he has - when the attacking player runs past him, he gets back in and makes a good recovery tackle. Wallsendmag
A lad from work who rarely goes to games but went to the Forest match over Xmas noticed that he needs 3 touches just to get the ball under control.
Colos Short and Curlies
Its like he was praised as a 5 year old for taking a touch to stop a ball before doing anything else but was never able to grasp bringing a ball under control whilst running. Keep to what you know best and all that
Figures 1-0 Football
The fact that this lad has looked shit in nearly every game at this level says everything that you need to know. There was a moment yesterday where the ball was in the air and he seemed to move backwards away from it rather than attacking it. Genuinely think he's scared of the ball. No idea why Rafa continues to persist with him. The thought of Knockaert running at him in a few weeks is worrying.

He'd look a really good defender for most teams at this level IMO
triggs
It's not like it's just going to be him 1v1 vs. Knockaert anyway. It will be the same as last time where Knockaert will be forced to go deep to get the ball as we'll have our left winger in front of him

He'd look a really good defender for most teams at this level IMO How many times has the ball been played inside him/over the top of him this season because he is so badly positioned? It's not just his attacking/ball play, his defending is just as gash. He makes a good tackle every now and again but so did Mike Williamson.

Figures 1-0 Football
Too much to read into Lazaar's game time slowly increasing? I'd be quite interested to see us go like this for a couple of matches against the lesser clubs in the league at home. Just to mix it up a bit and try to do something different. Clark is easily capable of filling the gap Lazaar would leave when getting forward, not sure about Hanley mind. Gayle Gouf Ritchie Hayden Shelvey Lazaar Yedlin Clark Lascelles Hanley Darlow
Ronaldo
Too much to read into Lazaar's game time slowly increasing? Has he played at LB in the league yet? I don't think Rafa see him as a defender. I certainly don't tbh.
xLiaaamx
He's still as bad defensively as ever. And treating the ball like a bomb. How he's made it this far is a mystery.

ChrisMcQuillan
Not been mentioned, but what a fucking fantastic block tonight. He's an excellent last-ditch tackler, IMO.

If he was a CB here we would probably like him a lot more. He's so ill-equipped to be a fullback.

Despite the fact it was his own fault he was in that position. He's absolutely woeful, I've defended him a few times but he's genuinely shit.
