As odious as he is, and as shit as he was for us, Owen was literally world class and fully deserving of the Ballon D'or. Unfortunately for him, he was pretty much finished after 21.

I've definitely posted about it before, but I've always thought that the dip in quality at the top level around the turn of the century compared to what came before and after it was massive.

Owen was obviously a world class player in his pomp. But Mbappe and Vini are both better. A lot better too.

I don’t think they can ge in the same side however.  And we are yet to see Mbappe work in an elite club side.  The footage of him ignoring Alonso is untenable player power.

Isn’t it just one or two players? And you’re not always going to have ‘best of all time’ active players.

Ronaldo aside I don’t think players 97-07 were better than what we have now.  But they were a lot more aesthetically pleasing I guess

What an absolute prick this bloke is, he genuinely thinks cos he's flaked a good job he's an actual top coach.

I haven't acquired the hate yet but it's early doors.

Did however just see his waffling about the word manage/aging men. LinkedIn Liam is a belta

I'm very surprised man utd or Chelsea didn't go for alonso.

Wasn't Rosenoir appointed before Alonso left Madrid?

We also haven't appointed anyone yet.

There was reports he was on his way out though. Chelsea could easily of held back appointing rosenior.

It looks like everything is getting put in place for Southgate's arrival in the summer, seems a bit daft sacking Ashworth now.

Honestly, I'm starting to think this is a possibility at this point.

Heard lots on how much Steve Holland is a great choice of coach for Carrick.

How much of great job he's done at England under Southgate. Zero mention that Steve Holland was always England's footballing brain under Southgate. Everything England did under Southgate was lead by Steve Holland - rabbit in the headlights vs. Croatia and Modric in 2018, handing over the game to Italy for over an hour, refusing to play a left footed player on the left and 3 10's at 2024.

As long as Man U, Carrick and Holland play Albania, Panama, Andorra and grind out a draw to Colombia you'll do fine.

If I was a Man U fan, Steve Holland coming in under Carrick is a huge red flag.

Was listening to an athletic podcast earlier and they were glazing him to high heaven. They obviously don't listen to the amount of absolute shit he spouts.

I don't think that's surprising like, they're the same people in the same circles, spouting the same shit.

Athletic don’t like to upset their Chelsea sources. Watching them do a half hour YouTube video about them sacking Maresca without managing to criticise the club or DOF was quite to the display of mental gymnastics. Client journalism cloaked in respectability.

It's how they have the undoubted best sources isn't it? But it has and continues to get worse  they glaze everything and everyone
