Wanted him to try and win another league title.

Leaving after finishing 3rd & 2nd makes me think other managers have caught up to him. For 15 years he was clear of absolutely everyone in a league format.

Well if you think on it he's never managed without almost unlimited resources....Barca, bayern, city. All pretty much had their pick of players. See how good he actually is at a club with constraints.

It's possible to think Pep is a canny lad whilst also thinking his recent brand of football should have a washing machine chained to its leg and be dropped off the side of a boat over the Mariana Trench.

Or he knows City are going to be totally screwed with their 115 charges and wanted out before they land

All top managers get this.

Aye, it's one thing to mention the resources but regardless of that he still quite clearly is one of the best managers of my life time. There are very few, if any who could have similar success in the same scenario.

I wasn't speculating on why he was leaving, just saying I'd be happy to go for a pint with him if he asked, but his recent brand of football should be completely eradicated and never, ever, ever seen again because it's fucking awful.

Well there arent? But who else has had almost unlimited funds and their choice.of players? Only one close is Mourinho, and we have all seen how much of a loon he has been recently

Mourinhos football with unlimited resources (first Chelsea stint) was absolutely shocking. Peps football was incredible (granted it turned to a boring shower of shit in last couple of seasons).

Pains me to say it but I think Klopps football will never be beaten though.

Have you seen how much money PSG's squad costs? It's an irrelevant point when all the best teams literally cost billions and we see massive amounts of money wasted every year. I've been hearing this argument since his Barca days and it's the same thing it always was, a barbershop argument that neither side can definitely prove so everyone just goes round in circles.

Psg are a bit of an anomolie. They have literally no domestic competition, and dont really have the best players. They have a collection of very good players, but no real superstars. Very good team, but no one will remember them

They've got the current ballon d'or holder and I think in Kvaratskhelia they probably have the best wide player in Europe.

Mourinhos first stint was massively innovative, the shift between 451 and 433 had not been done before. Obviously being able to buy anyone available helped a bit. Was a bit gutted they got Kezman at the time over us. Luckily he turned out to be fairly rubbish

Pep only being a good manager because of the resources available to him is such a false lazy narrative. He has literally changed football in this country even at grassroots level.

Ferguson gets all sorts of praise for bringing through that class of 92 or whatever it was called but that team Pep brought through at Barca was on another level to that .
