Started "monitoring" him again. In Bild, German newspaper. Coincidentally he is in Dubai injured at the moment.

Bild are shocking for making up rumours so I can't see this happening. Only semi-reliable outlet from Germany is 'Kicker'.

Who incidentally is doing quite well in a team that keeps it on the deck/gives him support/keeps him on the pitch  :explode:

And play in the Eredivisie.

Any striker who received as little support as he did would fail to impress. Riviere being a case in point.

That said you just can't compare the Eredevisie with the premier league. Some strikers from there can hack it and others can't. You can cite Suarez as a success but for every Suarez there's a Kezman, Alfonso Alves or Altidore. All goal scorers over there and pretty useless everywhere else.

Riviere who struggled in Ligue 1 with James Rodriguez and Moutinho supplying him?

De Jong was awful man, when you are that slow and weak you have to have something about you to make it in the PL. Being a Ducth striker the least you'd expect was some decent technique, he could barely reach the goal when he shot ffs. Absolute bobbins.

Hamburg are lining up former Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt as a replacement for Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who is reportedly wanted by Newcastle United.

According to the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper, the Magpies have made the northern Germany club an offer they cannot refuse for the 23-year-old, who was only on the bench for their defeat to Cologne at the weekend.

That is also where Hunt was for Wolfsburg's 3-0 win over Schalke, and where he has spent most of his time for the Wolves since joining them from Bremen last summer.

The 28-year-old would not be expected to cost much either, since he joined Wolfsburg on a free transfer a year ago and only appeared in 15 matches for them.

Any German speakers?:

News from the island: The English Premier League club Newcastle United dispensed with an offer to the HSV for Pierre-Michel Lasogga, the striker but is watching the rest of the season.

Apparently.

It means we aren't making an offer but we will keep an eye on him this season.

Sky Germany reporter on SSN seems to think this is a go-er as Hamburg are finalising a deal for someone.  Sounds a very similar style player to Mitrovic so not sure why we'd be interested.

Rotation system for each time he's banned for 3 games.

Waiting for Ryder to deny that...

Seems to be the slow and lumbering type without the goal threat. Can't see it happening personally.
