Segun Oluwaniyi
Ligue 1 has contributed 1 European Cup/CL winner 1 Cup Winners Cup winner 0 UEFA/Europa winner In its entire existance. A ridiculous underachievement based on the support some of the clubs recieve and the standard of players France have produced. The CL record is expected, because there has rarely been more than one club at a time that could be considered a "top team" from that league, but the performance in the lower cup is just shockingly pitiful. Every single year, too. Although England's record since Heysel is horrific also.
Guest
We've not done all that bad. Liverpool have won it, Arsenal, Boro & Fulham have been to the final. Other than PSG in the Cup Winners Cup in 97, Marseille 04...can't remember a French club going close.
Guest
We were actually the last English club to play in the Cup Winners Cup I think?

Village Idiot
He's yet to have a good game against us, but someday he will. He's the reason I didn't fancy playing PSG at all in the CL.
Trumpet
Euro qualifiers eh....had a look at the games for this upcoming match-day. Perhaps the pick of the bunch: Czech vs. Netherlands Iceland vs. Turkey Germany vs. Scotland Switzerland vs. England Austria vs. Sweden Norway vs. Italy Thought there are 2 rounds being played, but looks like only one. KaKa
Can you imagine if we had signed Lamela under Pardew by the way, with the way he looked last season? Would have been farmed out to Burnley on loan or something.
Mattoon
Lost all appetite for football for some reason... There was a time when I hated the international break, now I see it as a welcome breather where I can watch a team I can support make an effort to win a game of football. Although England can be as frustrating as Newcastle at least they try and win.
Ryan
3-0 Argentina, Fernandez (Swansea's new signing). Di Maria has three assists too. Germany are getting completely battered here, massively missing Hummels and Schweinsteiger.

Village Idiot
I know it's a friendly, but I really think the Cup would be in Buenos Aires had Di María been fit for the final.
Flip
I know it's a friendly, but I really think the Cup would be in Buenos Aires had Di María been fit for the final. Nah, no way. He wasn't playing well, no idea where you're getting this opinion of him having a great World Cup. He certainly wasn't the Di Maria we've been used too the last 9 months or so. Flip
No idea where you're getting this opinion of him not having a great World Cup either I'm being honest, never thought he was great. He had moments where he shined. Just to be sure I'm not crazy I had to find player ratings only found goal.com which is probably a shit site but they're with me with for most parts. Game1: http://www.goal.com/en/match/argentina-vs-bosnia-herzegovina/1220100/ratings Game 2: http://www.goal.com/en-india/match/argentina-vs-iran/1220102/ratings Game 3 (didn't see this game) http://www.goal.com/en/match/nigeria-vs-argentina/1220104/ratings Game 4: http://www.goal.com/en/match/argentina-vs-switzerland/1220127/ratings Game 5: http://www.goal.com/en-tz/match/argentina-vs-belgium/1220136/ratings Saw some other player ratings that were giving him 5s or 6s for most parts. Which is exactly what I felt he performed at, never really got going imo. (did miss the Nigeria game though, as I was at the other group game being played at the same time) so maybe he was great in that game.
Flip
Di Maria is daft levels of good. He is. Going to improve Man U a huge amount. It'sone of those players that is able to win games on his own due to his flair and creativeness.
