Nice!

This is my first kit. Just realised it looks like a dodgy knock-off version  (no badge)!

had hooped socks for both our Championship seasons actually. Only other time was 73'74 associated with Malcolm McDonald.

What a great picture. It looks like a publicity shot from Kes.

I remember feeling like the bee’s knees, 7th birthday I think. Wonder I didn’t end-up with varicose veins given how tight the elastic bands were I used to keep the socks up on my snapper legs.

The all white home kit alternative would be a perfect away kit - would love if we just had a club policy of always trying to wear the black and white shirt with white shorts and socks if our usual look clashes.

I know, I know, kit manufacturers and kit sales goals would never go for it but just properly love us wearing the all white.

Me too, heartbreaking yet beautiful film. One of the best in British cinema imo.

Agreed. Read the book for school O level. I live in North Wales but came from Lincolnshire. The only bird of prey we’d see as kids was the kestrel. It’s been a much loved favourite of mine since. I still have a sense of wonder when I see one out on my walks.

Beautiful. That sense of wonder is a special thing, a gift. It makes me emotional just thinking of the film, and of how something so small can represent and symbolise so much.

Did you get your 1st kit in your early 40's?

😆

This was my first shirt, a long sleeved Bukta that was made out of some kind of abrasive fabric. My mam had stitched a red ribbon in the shape of a number 9 on the back as my hero was Waddle. I was disappointed I didn't have the up to date shirt like my friend. It looks like long sleeved replicas were all the rage back then.

Note also the no-make shorts and Gola boots:Screenshot_20251002_093426_Photos.thumb.jpg.2aa87629a365f98222b7fe603c9804db.jpg

I know exactly what you mean about that Bukta kit like. An afternoon playing in that and you'd lose a nipple

If we do the same the polo and track top are definites. Possibly the sweatshirt. Can leave the trainers and track pants.

The track tops are no better than the ones we’ve just released. The sweatshirt is just a walking adidas advert and the trainers are a no.
