Can't see the point of it tbh, does it bear any resemblance to anything retro? Think the actual top is nicer, albeit that's probably because it's currently sponsor-less too. Was just going to say that exact thing. What’s the point of it? The players will never wear it. It’s not a Newcastle shirt, it’s a randomly designed adidas shirt with the Newcastle batch stuck on to sell it to a specific set of fans. No doubt Man Utd, Villa, Celtic etc will have their own version

Harry 209 Posted Sunday at 11:32 Share Posted Sunday at 11:32 In fact I'd say that's better suited to fans than walking around in something designed to play football in with a geet big advert plastered over the front of it.

Superior Acuña Posted Sunday at 12:36 Share Posted Sunday at 12:36 (edited) Agreed that I find something very odd about those items that are like kits but not. Feels like selling a snide kit to me, don’t get the point. Some people went mad for that faux retro one though so theyve obviously got a market. I love them because they are designed in the style of mid 80s adidas kits which is my most nostalgic period, so we are getting the Adidas kits we never got offically at that time. Just pointing out that they're to be expected these days. That black and white stripe one from last year would've been a GOAT kit if it was the real deal. Also - this and the 2024/25 one look much better than any match worn shirt we've had over the last 30 years, and they don't have some rubbish company emblazoned over the front. So that’s the point of it. Dolla dolla bills y’all. But you’re clearly not in that target market.

The leaked pictures of them on the beach don’t show the bolder Adidas stripes either. It seems to be very hit and miss if new shirts will have it this season. My guess is that the trefoil shirts won’t.

It's definitely a mock up but the trefoil stuff uses the old style stripes.
