Looks quite dull that kit. A bit of invention on the collar would uplift it. Plus black shorts + hooped socks would be tickety boo.

The collar is almost identical to the 95-96 shirt.

And it did have a variant with black shorts and black socks.

Change the collar to black and it the perfect shirt imo.

Fair one, on the photo Yorkie uploaded it looked like a plain round neck just like our maroon away one this season.

Definitely looks better with black shorts.

Nah. The collar being a different colour to the stripe it's on is jarring. See 2021-22 and the "number 4".

Unless you mean invert the colours, with which I'd still vehemently disagree.

I will die on the hill that that Juve shirt is the perfect shirt for us in every single regard. Even with the back as I much prefer a black back with white numbers than what we have now.

In fairness, that 4 shirt would have been really nice if it wasn't for the utterly shit sponsor

If we're talking unhinged one off designs (That would likely go down poorly) I would also like to see a black and white version of these two, even if they're just made during the design phase and discarded immediately

Are we allowed to do the shield again or are there rules against it? I loved it.

Years are passing far too quickly for my liking though.

I loved it too was something different and unique. Especially with the Newcastle United scroll at the bottom

Yeah, an insight into my mind right there, I choose to remember Andreas Andersson & Des Hamiton before us beating Barca or reaching multiple cup finals.

As an aside I do wanted Andreas Andersson to be at least half decent. The moment in the semi final when he was one on one with keeper and fell over

What was the general consensus on that '97 home shirt at the time? All these comments have me wondering if I just made up the reaction I thought it got. I liked it but had it in my head that it got consistently shit on for the centralising of the crest and Adidas logo and the shield being a bit OTT. I was like 8 years old and the other end of the country though.
