The 99-2000 kit had dark blue pipings or whatever you called it back then on the collar, cuffs and bottom part of the shirt. Should be that shade of blue, not this Michael Owen-esque light blue shit.

The new one's piping is definitely light blue, I'm afraid. Same colour as the bottom of the NUFC badge, approximately.

I personally REALLY like it... looks really good in the flesh. The stripes have enough different about them (jagged stitching + a very subtle circle effect within them, at least on the authentic one) to feel modern, and the blue piping gives it a nod to earlier kits.

The computer generated mockup posted by @Joelinton7 is NOT right. The one posted by TheProphet is closer but no tartan, and different collar / shoulders.

Any clue what the official release date of the adidas hype video is?

A remake of 08/09 home and 97/98 away all in one season. Some absolutely terrible memories.

Adidas trading on nostalgia from miserable times, nice one.

At this rate put a Puma badge on it too and do a fusion between the 2008 and 2016 relegation kits

Can you say if the adidas stripes are white or black?

Sky blue piping can get to absolute fuck.

Ashley era nonsense.

1999-2001 home kit had blue trimming ro collars and cuffs.

Barcode kit had minor blue elements to it, too.

91-95 had a hint of blue. If we had a tertiary colour it was blue. A blue fleck on the shorts 91-93, blue on the collar and I think the rim of the sleeves and socks 93-95.  Plus of course the blue star which ruled.

Really not a fan of the blacked out club badge on the white jackets.

I wasn't but I think its quite iconic due to cup final now, sold out I think

I don't like any of the leaked kits for next season.

Adidas is trying too hard with the design.

Keep it simple!

I mean black and white stripes, how hard can it be?

If they have to do a remake of old kits, don't choose the kits that looked awfull the first time.

Looks like the 2006 (Shearer's testimonial), which is not a bad shirt if they had done it with gold. Sky blue screams of Ashley, Owen, relegation scrap, Wonga. :buck2:

Love this one

Would love this one as our retro. Wore the original while watching the cup final, so I guess it's now my lucky shirt.
