Copa América Centenario

Was at the match last night, great fun. Was really worried it wouldn't start up again, but since it did, it was all just a good experience.  And we moved around to better seats near the pitch amongst the chaos. So glad Chile won it too. Rafa wants to get that Fuenzalida, he only plays for Catolica.

You could tell Chile missed Vidal and Diaz in midfield last night. Silva and Hernandez are decent players but Chile will need the Vidal-Diaz-Aranguiz central midfield working at 100% to have a chance against Argentina.

Should be an excellent final. And I'm cautiously optimistic we'll see a good 3rd place match too. Don't think Colombia will play us off the field like they did in the opener, assuming Klinsmann doesn't do any more zany shit like playing Beckerman and Wondolowski.

His decisions to play Wondo are borderline Pardew-tastic.  Fucking weirdo.

Chile are not as fun to watch these days and not the same team that played that Copa final last year...

They don't play 3-5-2 under their new coach, so it's not quite as swashbuckling as it used to be. Think they'll look a lot better than they did last night once their first-choice midfield is back for the Argentina game.

#USA: Howard; Yedlin, Orozco, Cameron, Besler; Jones, Bradley, Bedoya; Zardes, Dempsey, Wood

#COL: Opsina; Fabra, Zapata, Murillo, Arias; Celis, Torres; James, Cardona, Cuadrado; Bacca

Howard, Orozco and Besler come in for Guzan, Brooks and Fab Johnson. Orozco ffs.

US done well this tournament, or just home advantage helping them?

Not much of a home advantage playing against Latin American teams in the U.S.

Nah I do think we've done better than we would've otherwise, had the tournament taken place in South America. Can't really complain much about a semi-finals run, think that's better than what most expected. Klinsmann still needs to go IMO.
