Gateshead home to Peterborough Sports in the last 8 of the FA Trophy. They've got a cracking chance to get to Wembley for a second year running. Hopefully they get there twice.

Below Blyth in the league so you'd make the Heed heavy favourites. Bit more of a squad to choose from compared to last season n all.

The two favourites Bromley and Barnet have drawn each other as well. (2nd v 3rd in The National League)

Seemed every season there'd be a Northern League club in the Vase, but none in the last 8 this year. Reckon it's down to the bigger clubs progressing up the pyramid?

Aye, for 10 years in a row from 2008, at least one NL side would make the final, including 8 winners, but since then, 5 of the past 6 finals (including this season) won't have included one. From that finals list, Spennymoor and South Shields are now 3 leagues above, Morpeth are two, Dunston, Stockton, Hebburn and Consett are all in the league above now, as were North Shields before they were demoted last season. You've also now got Ashington and Newton Aycliffe in that league now, so a lot of the better NL players will be at those sides, whereas in 2017/18 pretty much all those sides were in the NL, and South Shields were only promoted from the NL the season before. There were very few promotions out of that league from 2008-2017, only Darlington, Spennymoor and South Shields, so the league was generally much stronger.

Those goals scored / conceded columns - what a league.

Based on a hunch I wonder if teams focus more on the league now as well. Saying that Heaton got knocked out by Emley who I think have done for a couple of other NL clubs too.

James Montgomery re-joins Gateshead for the 4th time (month loan from Spennymoor). Straight in the team tonight at Kidderminster and a goal up.

Gateshead 2-0 up now. Comfortably in the Play-Offs with 1 & 2 games in hand over the teams above them, plus a cup Quarter Final. Fair play to Elliot, every time it looks like they're going to drop off or one of their star players leaves, they pluck someone else out of nowhere and continue what they're doing.

4th best away record in the league. Canny.

I thought they’d drop off loads when Iron Mike left but fair play to Blob he’s doing a decent job. Importantly doesn’t looked to have changed too much to quickly.

Nice to see Gateshead doing well.

York one of eight teams between 13th and 20th who are essentially one defeat away from the relegation zone (21st-24th). Canny competition down there to see who can be the most shit.

Aye they got it spot on. Probably the only way they could continue what they were doing was an appointment from within to continue their style of play. As soon as they get an outsider, they'll plummet. Hope they just give Elliot the job full-time.

Stephenson with two last night and a big win for Shit Shields over Scunthorpe, faint hopes of a playoff place still given form/played more than most

Up there with one of the worst games of football I've ever watched. Would be astounded if Scunny don't sack their manager soon (if they can afford it).
