Group C - France, Australia, Peru, Denmark - FRA & DEN advance

Recommended Posts

VAR is revealing that every match probably has 2 or 3 penalties within it but beautiful human error has kept us sane until now. It's no fun when everything is being pulled up (with a 2-minute wait) for penalties.

Only hope is that, over time, defenders will learn to stop doing this stuff.

Think the Aussies might win this one.

They are either surprisingly good or Denmark aren't actually that good.

Are we saying more goals is no fun? I'm really not following this anti-VAR stuff tbh.

You have to wait for the decision. Disgraceful

If half the goals are penalties, I'd not say it's more fun. I think VAR could work but they need to restrict how it's used - anything subjective should be kept to the referee.

Would like to see how many more pens are given at this WC compared to Brazil. Feels like loads so far.

13 given apparently in 2014 World cup. Been 11 so far in this one i think.

VAR will lead to better defending imo which can only be a good thing.

Yep. I would/have said less diving too but I don't think I've seen any player booked for diving yet. Not sure why cause some have been really blatant

Agreed, not sure why that hasn't.

Sounds like their's been some bother between the danish and australian broadcasters over that pen.

France formation probably wrong there like, doubt Matuidi will be left midfield. More likely to be 433 with Griezmann & Mbappe on either side of Giroud.

 makes sense
