Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

Recommended Posts

To this day I still never understood why nobody tried him on the left with his pace and inability to use his right foot.

Maybe he is just really crap at crossing with either foot and we will never know

That's where he played under Rafa.

Yeah he played on the left of a 3 for Atlanta in MLS, then for us under Rafa with Rondon CF and Perez right. Then Maxi joined in the Summer and he took the LW spot IIRC.

I agree, I always thought he was better on the left where he can shoot and cross. Then he had his hot run on the right so I thought maybe not. But overall I would prefer him on the left I think. Certainly against a low block where his main give and go game really doesn't have the space to work.

He was best as a 10 and central behind Martinez for Atlanta IIRC. We did play him on the left and he did play there for Atlanta at times too. I always though he should have been tried as a 10 more for us.

Did he... I seem to remember him running in from the right / centre and trying to shoot with his left?

He was on the left of Rondon, and Ayoze was on the right.

He was much more effective on the left too. Prior to joining us he mostly played on the left or number 10 at Atlanta.

Only got to see him on the left from Jan till the end of the season though, before Rafa and Rondon then left that summer.

Thanks to Mike Ashley.

was so excited for season to come.

Loved that front three and the back three, where we played LeJeune, Lascelles and Schar.

Looked like we were on our way despite so little money spent from Ashley. Rafa was cooking something up.

Then came that crushing summer. So terrible man.

Cant just PIF say that if Atlanta pay like 25-30M for Miggy then one of their companies will buy an add at their place for 18-25M. Wouldnt that fix our PSR and as long as we are not directly connected with Atlanta it doesnt have to be a fair price..

Technically Miggy is a very good player with his left foot.

No he’s not.

Not being able to touch the ball with his right foot is a massive technical limitation.  Touch, pass, shooting - his technical limitation is crazy. It’s hardly a Laurent Robert left foot. It’s not even a Lewis Hall left foot.

Yes that would be fine. Far too creative for our lot though.

We were cooking at that time, and exciting to watch. Rafa had sorted his “short blanket” issue out and we looked good in attack.

Miggys has one of the most uncultured left foots we’ve seen at NUFC from an attacker.

The second part of your post is just hyberbolic nonsense. Look at his outside of the boot volley v Fulham, his curler v Everton or his screamer v Villa and tell me they aren’t technically good goals.
