Dokko
There’s a huge part of me that thinks he’ll take this money and semi retire. Football is not his game, the least likely option is him buying another club, but with the high street struggling and so volatile especially after the virus, is it even safe to start buying it all up? I think he might just fuck it all off, take his money and run and let SD manage on its own.

Dokko
@ All you Adam Smith types, Is buying the failing brands of the high street good business strategy or is it mental? Right now having cash is king. Stick it in gold if you want to be mega safe. A company as large as SD could burn through 300m quite easily over the next year just fighting the fallout of the virus. Taking more on is a massive gamble, and he’s lost a couple under normal circumstances.

He appears to be driven in such a petty way. I'd wager good money, he'll go for the mackems tbh. If not them, then someone else. Also, I don't imagine him even contemplating retirement/semi retirement at the minute. His wealth is down by an absolute shit tonne. At it's peak, his wealth was circa £2bn. I'd be surprised if it's not closer to £500m now. He'll be driven to return to those levels imho. The only thing delaying him getting back into football is that I reckon he'll try to take SD private again. That's whats driven him to getting this far with our sale imho. AyeDubbleYoo
@ All you Adam Smith types, Is buying the failing brands of the high street good business strategy or is it mental? Said it a few times, I don’t get Ashley’s recent strategy at all. Getting deeper and deeper into a failing industry and brands that will never recover. I guess it’s all he knows. If I was him I’d cash out my £500m and retire, but I guess he has that business person drive that never seems to let up.

Wilson
I'm convinced he will turn up at Sunderland over the next few months Mackems would love it, Mike not so much. Why would he, no way of making money off that lot whatsoever.
Guest chopey
If he buys them for £20 million there is, he has a bonk on for buying failing business and trying to turn them around.

number9shirt
I remember reading somewhere Ashley being linked with buying crystal palace, wouldn't be surprised to see that happen. No surprise Jordan is constantly licking Ashley's bung hole.
geordie john
There is absolutely no way on this planet that he will ever buy another football club. He hates owning us, why do it again? He will use any money from the sale to support his shitty retail empire.
Decky
If he bought the mackems and took them to the Prem they'd be loving him, but then he'll put the squeeze on and do his usual shit. Imagine us being a good side and battering an Ashley owned Sunderland twice a year man. Fucking great.

Guest chopey
I wouldn't be to sure about that, he has ran Newcastle for 13 years at a profit, if he could purchase Sunderland for a pittance he could turn it around, drinking a pint from a plastic glass surrounded by makems would put him on the same pedestal as the 73 team, that hatrick fella and Bally.
