Callum Wilson set to be out for around 8 weeks with new hamstring injury (Howe)

NUFC.com saying he's told fans (presumably out in Saudi) he's in line to play v. West Ham:

Team: Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles remain out, with Emil Krafth joining them on the sick list. The availability of Kieran Trippier is tbc, but Callum Wilson has told fans that he's in line to play his first game of the season against West Ham.

Taking the pressure off Isak for 20 mins will be huge going into December fixtures

Aye then Osula can take the pressure off Wilson for the last 15 too.

Score one against Wet Spam, who have seen him score in almost every game against them and then put in a cheeky 10M bid over Christmas and we get some money back.... he the ricks back/groin/hamstring/knee/pectoral in his first game for them.

My mate saw Wilson in the Nuffield Hospital today. No other info just that he was there?

Adopts David Attenborough voice:

And here we have a lesser spotted Callum Wilson, Latin name Strikerus Crockerus, in his natural habitat, a private Hospital, making his way from treatment table, to sofa and back again, a well trodden path for this species

Sounds like he's still not trained and West Ham might come too soon.

I have to say.  I'm quite shocked by this news........

Still ruing the fact we didn't sell him when we had the chance.

I know he will probably still contribute with goals here and there off the bench.  But at this point, I'd rather we just went more in on developing Osula to see if he has anything.  As Wilson has no future here and doesn't stay fit for more than a few games at a time if you're lucky.

Just hoping he can chip in with 5-10 goals

Probably the best outlook at this point. Even 3-4 goals which get us an extra few points might make all the difference.

Apparently Howe has said he could still earn a new contract. I hope this was just said to motivate him.

Can't believe he's still not going to be available even after the international break.
