Which basically confirms that the "punishment" wasn't done with the fans in mind at all. It was all about the money. If any other PL club had tried this stunt they would have been relegated.

CL: Leicester, West Ham, Leeds & Everton

EL: Aston Villa, Newcastle

Conf L: Wolves

 Would’ve been quality for English sides next season.

Absolutely. Because it’s the rich 6 then it’s been swept under the carpet, let’s just forget it ever happened and keep the money rolling into the Premier League. Nearly killed the goose that lays the golden egg, can’t have that happen again so will give more power to them.
 

The rich 6 will pretend to care by giving some token voice to a fans committee, spend another fortune in the summer and their customers will lap it up. All will be forgiven.

 

The fact UEFA happily let Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd, three clubs who didn’t want to compete in their competitions next season, play in their showpiece finals just showed who has the power. Fucking spineless. 
 

Then you had the media wankfest over brave Liverpool completing the true underdog story to finish in a Champions League place that they even didn’t want to play in if they had their way. Not a mention of the hypocrisy, just how it was a great achievement to finish top 4.
 

In the days after the coup there was a co-ordinated effort from the usual voices in the media with allegiances to the rich 6. They were falling over themselves with the mantra ‘you can’t punish the clubs as that’s not fair on the fans, won’t somebody think how the fans are feeling’.

Narrative soon changed when the proper Man Utd fans took out their own punishment on their club and the league. Then it was ‘Fans are at fault, this isn’t right and it wasn’t fair on the clubs, let’s just play the games. Live on Sky’.
