Other than being the head of PIF which earns money for Saudi Arabia, (human rights) what has he done that makes him a cunt?

I was wondering the same. Has he spoken to the man or what did he specifically do to earn that comment.

The article didn't have a go at fans at all, it only had a go at Yasir joining celebrations on the pitch.

His family, particularly his children, travel to matches regularly. They were always out of school for that reason.

Just to clarify; I don't have any issue with Yasir celebrating on the pitch or lifting the trophy  I enjoyed watching him do it, he's earned it more than most other football club owners.

Aye, just realised I quoted the wrong thing. 😂

I was referencing the Man City ownership. But luckily it still works with Yasir.

Remind me again of where Musk got the money to buy out Twitter, and to fill that platform with bile and poison while undermining western democracy?  If that circle could be squared then it could be further evidence of cuntitude.

Aside from the morality issues caused, we need to remember that team owners on the field of play, lifting trophies and basking in reflective glory is very American and for that reason alone we should all be disgusted by it.

That is true, but is the British way to skulk away quietly?

Don't really think the level of investment we've had so far is particularly different to what could have been achieved with any other rich owner or investment consortium. PSR has meant that all we've really done is spend to bring the club and squad up to where we should have been operating at anyway in terms of commercial revenue and wage bill - and the club has made lots of very good decisions to get to where we have done.

If they write a blank cheque which means we get a brand new stadium and training ground without being saddled with debt, then you can say that PIF have then made a mark other owners wouldn't have been able to. But that hasn't happened yet, and still might not.

The above reality makes me enjoy the cup win more tbh.

100%

Major factor, so far, is the correct decision making and, largely, successful recruitment. Any owner could get that right, tho they seldom do.

John Hall, for eg, didn't put a dime on the table but courted KK. The rest, as they say, is history.

100% - this is NUFC not even stretching to its full potential.  It is not the result of obscene amounts being poured in - it as a condemnation of the Ashley era as much as owt else

Obviously it goes without saying but as a club we were extremely unlucky to end up with Mike Ashley just right at the point where European football, and the Premier League, was about to go into overdrive in terms of global TV exposure and commercial growth.

Ashley might actually have been an acceptable football club owner in the 90s (particularly at a smaller club) - but in an era where speculating to accumulate (and thinking beyond the bottom line season to season) suddenly became the thing you had to do he was the worst possible owner you could possibly have.

It isn't having a go at the football fans, that's why I felt it was a refreshingly balanced read. Sportswashing and state ownership are important topics in football.

Except this Oliver Kay guy seems to have a particular hard on for us since the PIF takeover, he's written plenty of previous articles criticising our ownership as well.

That's fair enough if he's consistent and had a go at other odious ownerships on a regular basis as well, just maybe I've missed them with me only really focusing on Newcastle.
