If Inter and Napoli both end up topping Serie A with the same amount of points, they will play a title-deciding play-off match due to both of their league games ending 1-1 this season.

The team with the best goal difference will play at home and the match will be decided on penalties if it's level after 90 minutes

What a chew on. Any statto out there care to see if that scenario would have ever prevailed here if GD wasn't a thing?

Don't rush 😂

Not for extra games but do think its fairer. GD can be skewered by playing teams with nothing to play for, already relegated, teams playing 2nd strings etc.

Its not a new thing, been around at least 30years(Padova and Genoa had a relegation play-off then).

Seen some piece slating it in the papers this week, just hope he applies the same to the playoffs here but would be surprised

Napoli win 2-0 v Torino to go 3 points clear of Inter with 4 games to play.

Think Napoli will get Serie A now. They absolutely shouldn't slip up.

Inter for the CL please...

He was signed as a wing back, but Conte abandoned his usual back 3 after about 4 games of the season and reverted to the 4-3-3 that Napoli usually play.

Then they lost Kvara without a replacement in January and Neres to injury - so he's ended up there kind of by accident really.

Hard to call which way the title will go. Inter have an ageing squad and are stumbling along, if they can pick up some form I suspect they'll turn it around.

Napoli have a cracking XI when everyone is fit, but their bench and reserves are average at best. Anguissa and Lobotka both went off injured last night so that could impact them massively unless both injuries are minor or just precautions.

I'm going to Lecce Vs Napoli on Saturday, which is a big game for both ends of the table.

Bari vs Pisa on Sunday too - Pisa might be up by then depending what happens on Thursday's games. Bari pushing for play offs.

winning Serie A with Napoli would be an amazing achievement by Conte

always thought he was way too good for Spurs

He's an amazing coach who complains none stop. You can never give him enough for him to be moaning.

Lecce is an amazing city, the ground isn't in such a good area and I wasn't allowed in for a visit when passing.  Enjoy!

Should be a cracker! I've really started getting into Serie A this season. Went to Milan v Atalanta over the Easter weekend and had a great time. Ended up sat just along from the Ultras which was an eye opener but a great experience.

Enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed it. I'd thoroughly recommend dipping into all levels. Tickets are generally cheap, you can usually buy them easily, stadiums are varied and the cities are usually nice to visit. In the north the trains are very good and make doing a bunch of games over a weekend achievable - not too dissimilar to Netherlands where I know you go quite often.

I usually mix it up between going in the curva and the side. In the curva people just stand wherever so you can usually take a peripheral spot, but it can also be nice to get the full perspective of the curva from another vantagepoint.

I'm going with my old man this time, so we'll be in the slightly posher seats resting his knees.

Going to start watching some of the lower level stuff in Europe. Had a taste of it a few weeks back when we had a spare day to kill after watching PSV play on the Saturday. Flight home wasn't till the Sunday night so ended up going to watch Telstar in the 2nd Division as IJmuiden was easily accessible from Schiphol. Really enjoyed it. Tickets were €15 each and €5 for the bairn and the atmosphere was canny as well.

Lower league German games are supposed to be really good games to go to so planning on doing a couple of those next season. Hopefully get over to Italy again as well.

I know Inter have Barca midweek but they've completely changed their XI for tonight against Verona.

That's crackers, it's almost like they have conceded the league to Napoli tonight

Still a strong XI tho, shows the depth they have and also that Napoli have been lucky with injuries (I hope I haven't jinxed it)

Just seen Inzaghi's Pisa have been promoted to Serie A for the first time in 34 years.

Also Sampdoria in real danger of dropping down into Serie C.

Presuming we’re all here for Lloyd Kelly? Big game for L.Kellz this weekend against Lazio. Don’t lose and they’re a shoo-in for Europe.

First Italian match I watched was Inter v Sampdoria in 90/91 and became a Samp fan for a while (had the shirts, Mancini fav player, watched the matches on Sky) in the midst of it, they went on to win the league later that season. Same thing happened with Rangers (liked Gary Stevens, dad worked in Glasgow) and they went on to win the league, and the next eight, later that season.

Had the midas touch except where it mattered, with us, where I experienced first hand instead of vicariously probably our worst ever era

How the worm turns. In a parallel universe someone in Portafino or Glasgow might be doing that with us.

Its not unheard of unless they mean specific to Sampdoria. Napoli's fall from grace was a lot faster than that, having win the title a year before Samp. Must be cos they'll know Genoa have been down there too (and are more decorated)
