You’re just making stuff up now to make yourself feel shit, take a break More than aware of what he's achieved and love him for it, just worried we look so far behind those levels now

Yorkie
We've been absolutely minging a few times this season but there's been plenty where we've been alright-to-very good. Certainly every home game in all competitions has had either a sustained spell of good, progressive football, or have just been outright good performances. We're just shite away from home and, up to now, getting worse. But there's still 13 games on the road available to us to address those issues, and 14 at home. Change the full backs (Hall and Tino as soon as he’s fit), take Jow out, put Ramsdale in so that we retain possession more. Play Barnes over Gordon. All things that I think could well happen now. Get Wissa in and we’ll look a completely different side. Defensively we’re fine, we’ve shipped stupid goals in the last few weeks that won’t happen often again this season. Our main problem is sorting out the team in possession of the ball and cutting teams open. The full backs are the answer, and Jow being out is the answer

Whilst we have had some decent results at home I don't think we have played particularly well this season.. Certainly in the league. Liverpool game is the only one where you could argue (imo) we showed an intensity. Edited November 10, 2025 by duo
nufc4eva
We scraped past Fulham and Wolves, Forest we did well and Liverpool. Better in the cups. In terms of team Howe doesn't seem to want to rotate out Joe, Gordon or Pope when fit and I get why stuck with Burn and Trips with not many other options but then need to adjust in front of that. A different midfield 3, attacking patterns or whatever, a keeper that can play a ball to try and beat press. Playing a 4231, playing Miley instead of Joelinton, trying Gordon right and Barnes left. Anything but he's stuck with same team every time.

Didn't see Wolves. Arsenal very disappointing but hinged on the Tino injury imo. Villa and Bournemouth were tidy away performances and good, hard-fought points. Clutching a wee bit maybe but the point is I don't think we're fully broken. Said of loads of times now but it was always gonna be a bit of an uneasy path given how the summer went. The Prophet
I don't think we need to reinvent the wheel. Hall in for Burn and Ramsey or Miley in for Joelinton would be a start. I think the issues away from home are as much about mentality as they are tactical.
Ronaldo
I would also say the criticism of Howe (from our own fans) over the past 24 hours on Sky etc has been unfair. He’s not Bobby / Rafa in that they can see what’s not working in-game and fix it and that’ll likely always be a weakness that will hold him and us back, but the shitshow of a summer (that some fans defended) was always going to be tough to adapt to for any manager, let alone one who prioritises preparation above all else. We just need to ride this storm and come out of it. Forrest once Bruno scored we played a bit more fluid but I remember against Fulham it was a bit of a slog - wasn't it last min winner? I agree in that I wouldn't say we are fully broken as we can still get results i.e. CL, League Cup but we defo misfiring. Getting the best out of Woltemade is the key for me as I think his lad is absolutely class but I feel it's a puzzle Eddie has yet to solve. He needs time on the training ground with the team - time that he isn't getting.

We’ve actually been handed a very favourable first 11 games given the issues a lot of our opposition have faced on and off the field. It’s going to get more difficult now. Casey
Mental trying to keep up with this thread. I think the overall sentiment matches my own, that Howe deserves more time. That said, I'm not as confident as some others about how long. Quite a few saying he'll have to the end of the season and similar. I'm not so sure like. I hope Eddie can pull off another minor miracle and I love the guy, but I suspect if we're in the relegation slots by Christmas, things might boil over. There's arguably only 1 'easy' league match (Burnley) in the run-up and we're only 2 points above 18th now. We've no form and nee confidence. Wishing it changes fast after the break. Wissa being fit is going to make a big difference also, it will change the attacking output in this 4-3-3 The only question is does he pair him with Wolte now or later, but obviously means changing formation. At some point it’s happening. It’s been a struggle balancing the squad against this schedule but it won’t be long before the form turns, slow starts have kind of been a thing for us since Howe.
