He was having to field questions about the Mam Utd job about 2 months ago and has also been linked to Chelsea. Also England quite often.

So that's a no then.

Good line of discussion this. Can sense it becoming very productive and insightful any minute now.

Howe should not be compared to anything going on under Ashley.

Why? I still look through a lot of things through the "it's not the Ashley era any more" lens. Would highly recommend tbh.

Well there hasn't been an explicit public courting of our manager.

So the question I asked was relevant then. I didn't see anyone highlighting the original

statement saying that every top 6 club would be after Howe if he left. Top 6 clubs have had the opportunity to recruit Howe as manager for years, I just asked the question why haven't they then.

Not being a dick at all, you were trying to be one though, someone made a statement and I asked a question based on that statement, nothing more.

Just helps you have a bit of gratitude/perspective instead of being overly reactive/spoiled I find

Competent enough to evade footballing laws and remain successful. Building legal and illegal networks to ensure success.

Our owners spend hundreds of millions on players our rivals no longer want.

Exactly this - our ultimate owners have almost infinite wealth yet I have seen no concrete evidence of legal/illegal frameworks, sports lawyers, multiple sponsorships, or anything which would move the PSR needle to a significant degree. So we are plodding along growing "organically" in a rigged league where the big boys make the rules. I would just like to see us rock the boat now and then rather than meekly accept our lot.

I answered. It's because Eddie Howe is fully committed to Newcastle United.

Are you going to post my vpn ip address also :bluestar:? I think it's you who needs to cool their jets. Just because you don't agree or like something someone who you haven't met in your life has said.

You seem to be being wilfully obtuse but alright then.

You should know as well as I do that a lot of these things gain momentum behind closed doors. If Howe made noises to other clubs he was open to leaving it might gain some traction. Similarly clubs might have asked him privately and he's said he's happy where he is.

Clubs are also more likely to go for managers where there will be minimum resistance/compensation.

I've no doubt there would be plenty of takers for Howe if he became unemployed due to his achievements the last few years, but we're all guessing to an extent due to lack of concrete info.

Guessing of course, but that's potentially because we have ample room for growth within the rules. Hopkinson's CV makes a lot of sense in that regard.

If we lose Eddie because of a small part of our fucking stupid fan base like we did *keegan and sir bobby i am walking away from football , Its already started to piss me off when you have cheque managers who can't do jack shit without unlimited cash yet they get called goats i miss the days of Fergie/Wenger types. And they get away with players who don't work yet it gets bashed aside untill they spend again in jan!

To be fair, that's usually in response to some form of disproportionate head loss.

I'd happily never reference the Ashley years again if everyone could agree that our manager has, in total, overachieved relative to investment and that metrics like "net spend in his tenure" should never be uttered again.

Also, people are making the same mistake with Spurs that they did with Man United a year ago. They don't have the same brand and history Man United have, but it wouldn't take much for them to be competing back in the top 6 regularly. And it can happen quickly.

For those that want a new manager, how would you feel about new Tottenham manager Eddie Howe? How do you think he would do?
