TRon
Thought our shape was really good today, we looked like everyone knew their job and we were well set up to play to their strengths.
AyeDubbleYoo
We were linking up really well before the red card as well, some really nice moves.

No, I just don’t think one trophy gives someone a lifetime free pass while the team sits 12th and performances have been declining for months. Crazy concept, I know. 60% of today’s performance beats Brentford and Everton, that just highlights the problem — we show up for big games but the level drops far too often the rest of the time with Howe unable to adress it. Mountain
Got the set up perfect. It's a shame the referee tried to rob him to the tune of 3 points. Even if we had lost, I'd have zero complaints, thought the shape and tactics were correct. Hopefully this continues but it's been the most bipolar season of all time. One good result doesn’t suddenly make the bigger problems disappear. 36 minutes ago, TRC said: The Howe out thing just goes round in circles, good performances against good teams, shit against poorer teams. Lets just use this result as a springboard and go an smash the rest of this season. If you can't just enjoy a performance and result like that without worrying about previous defeats then I'm not sure this is the sport for you, lads. Alan Pardew
Great win for Young Eddie. The ref tried his best to sabotage him tonight. Disgraceful for this league.

Our performances have shown signs of uplift for many weeks, I'd argue since PSG we've had our swagger back in possession at least. Yeah there are blips, it's not perfect but anyone saying we've been awful all season or whatever is either not watching properly or choosing to hold the absolute most negative perspective. Jonas
If we didn't get a result tonight it wouldn't have been on the manager, as a collective with what we can put out that was as much as I could expect and was just the flaws in those players that was holding us back before the referee decided to. Nobody’s saying we’ve been awful all season. We often turn up against good teams, that’s never really been the issue under Howe. But if the “swagger” has been back for weeks, the results against weaker sides, the mental lapses and the soft goals don’t really reflect that. I’ve genuinely lost count of the points we’ve dropped from winning positions. That pattern keeps repeating, and I’m not convinced Howe has an answer to it. I’d genuinely love to be proven wrong. LionOfGosforth
It's a bit of a classic comment from those that want EH gone, "I'd love to be proven wrong". I don't know how many times he needs to prove you all wrong, genuinely, he's done it so many times now.

Can you tell me a team that hasn't dropped points against weak opposition at some point?
AyeDubbleYoo
I don’t suddenly expect us to boss everyone, the point is the players are still behind Howe and we can still play brilliantly well.
alexf
I can't stand people that can't apply context to situations. Just looking at the table and saying 12th isn't good enough etc. especially when there is only 5 points separating 7th to 12th currently. We just beat the team 3rd in the league while playing with ten men for a whole half. Unfortunately circumstances have meant we haven't been able to play at our best levels and we have been very up and down. Those circumstances mainly surround the fact we have played more games than any other team at this point, We've lost key players to injury at key moments and new players have taken far longer to settle in than we needed. Couple that with the unsettled summer with Isak and the Mitchell etc and this whole season is so easily explainable. Yes there have been mistakes made in team set up/game management in individual game etc. But fuck me man the weird desire for some to shift out the man who has given us so much already is just odd to me. Are they just bored of having the same manager for more than 5 minutes and need something new and shiny? Do they have higher expectations now because we have over achieved relative to our wage and revenue? Just back him to get it right and allow him the space to fail at times in order to improve and grow. He's not fucking Steve Bruce man, the guy always comes back and gets us going again. We probably lose to City, Chelsea and Barca possibly in the next week but still doesn't mean he's not the man for this club.

Astroblack
Can’t see the players ever losing faith with Eddie especially with Tindall by his side. Perfect pair. Eddie’s the serious one, Jason’s the playful one.

He obviously has his share of the blame for that but he's also the man that took us back to the CL twice and won a trophy so he deserves a chance to have a rebuild and go again next season. Heron
Say what you like about Eddie Howe but he 100% has the dressing room. He has about 90% of fans I reckon and possibly even 99% of regular match going fans (see the fans singing EIEIEIO at 2-1). All made up numbers (I know). But you cannot ever fault his commitment and that of his team overall. He is an outstanding man manager, a bold (and sometimes stubborn), but wise tactician, the majority of signings under his tenure have been fantastic and above all else he's a really, really fucking decent human being. Long live the king.
