The league stated that a game could be postponed if both clubs agreed to it. We went out of our way to try and enable the Halifax team to watch the final, in comfort and with food provided. They refused and insisted that they were not playing the game. As c we did not agree to this and by the published league guidelines, then the game has to be declared a walkover surely and the 3 points awarded to Newcastle

I originally had a bit more compassion because, reading some of the online comments to the saga the other day, I naturally assumed all 11 fixtures involving the 22 non professional sides in the 3rd tier would have been postponed so players could watch their match in peace, but seeing how every other match went ahead and some involved even longer journeys, then they should defo push for what they want. The only thing is, after seeing Nottm Forest win 7-0 today, and the aforementioned Billericay win 6-0 in the Southern league, without knowing how good Halifax are, and seeing how the league was decided on GD last year, a routine 3-0 win might not be as good as playing the match out, but Halifax should be punished in some other form, maybe a points deduction as well as a 3-0 forfeit (if Newcastle are happy with that).

It's looking more like most of the comments were because it was Newcastle and the big, bad Saudi's throwing their new found wealth and weight around.

Got to win it though? Or are there playoffs? Always weird when there are equivalent regional leagues like this

In a change from previous seasons, both winners of the Northern and Southern Premier divisions will be promoted to the Women's Championship. The bottom two teams will be relegated to the appropriate fourth tier FA WNL Division One.

It's a really tough league. Our new assistant coach was in charge of Forest women who won the league last year but fell in the last version of the playoffs to go up.

It's going to take time to build to be clearly ahead of the rest and go up imo. We are a different team to last year though in terms of quality so we should hopefully be up and close to the running.

Just because noone else has posted it, there's a comment in the fans TV video of the match that the club are soon (this week) to announce some form of streaming of the women's matches. It's mentioned twice (but is at the end, for ease of finding). This seems to be the reason this one (the club's offical version, that is) was filmed with a better camera than usual. There was a club camera there, as seen in the fan's TV video. Whether this will be free or paid, is anyone's guess.
