Thought the factory was where Crosslings is on the Coast Road?

Aye it used to be where the Barr's factory is now on Benfield Road just beside Crosslings.

I'll have a look again tomorrow but I'm sure the old tudor sign is still there on the building.  But yeah, started in Sunderland bought by Smiths and moved to Newcastle then down Durham ways before walkers took over.  According to ronny Gill.

No Tudor were definitely there as I used to pass it every day as I went to Benfield school

Loads chanting "he's one of our own" and referring to us as The Mags in the Gallowgate tonight. Some even started chanting that they couldn't wait to get home. Smelly tramps.
