Unsuccessful again, shock horror.

Successes will be few and far between now mind due to the splitting of tickets going into a general sale.

Aye, the odds must've gone down significantly.

Getting fucking pissed off now. Absolute pisstake that some people get tickets either all the time or most of the time through the ballot. There is no weighting to it. How can some fans get tickets for 3 games running, surely if you get 1 ticket and apply for the next game, your chances should be reduced, or at least it should be by the time you get 2-3 games in.

Last season loads of fans got every Champions League game, and everyone else got nothing.

On top of this there is fuck all coming out of the club either in a way of expanding SJP, or building a new stadium to alleviate the demand.

I agree but there's no way they're able to make it that sophisticated. Would need a completely new platform.

Not like we aren’t owned by the richest people in the world who could afford to pay some college IT student to set it up.

Yeah, like we've discussed though, there's no business case because you sell every ticket no matter what.

Not sure the bit in bold is true like, at least via ballot anyway.

I remember getting chatting to a professional ticket tout when I was travelling, I think in Russia. This would have been 10 years ago. He was a digital nomad who just worked entirely from his laptop targeting any event where it would be perceived that demand would far outstrip supply. They increase their odds of getting them with multiple accounts and bots, then flog them once it's sold out. They're doing this as a full time job - they're better at it than any regular punter and the odds are in their favour.

Clubs can easily massively cut down on it overnight. You just get rid of digital tickets completely - no PDFs, no eWallets. Postage close to the game or collect in person from the ground - no other options needed. Suddenly only locals can feasibly tout tickets - not faceless people on the other side of the world doing it along with hundreds of other events.

But the clubs don't care about this entire market because they get more money from multiple memberships, and because often those likely to pay big £ for a one off game are also more likely to spend at the ground.

We probably have 100k sold memberships and more than half of them will be touts with multiple accounts.

That's why everybody has such limited chance IMO. You're not in a fair game.

And even worse this season because a lot of tickets don't go into the ballot at all.

The world and club’s only going to get more digital though, not less at this point. If there’s no way to clamp down on digital touting then it’s really fucking shit. A ton of fans lose out for the benefit of a handful of people who are exploiting them. The club is neutral to it from a financial perspective but it has the potential to drive away fans if people are completely shut out from attending
