I will make an entrance...

Last year, I won the opening day in Level 7 with my boy. Dont think I had another ballot win all season (from memory) but managed to get tickets in the general sale thankfully.

So far I've had Wolves and Bradford.

Season before I had a lot of success including PSG.

Season 23/24 with no member general sale meant ballot success was higher

But it was either ballot success or f5 GIF

Which was worse than what we have now, in my opinion. If you take the bots and touts out of the equation obvz.

What about last season ?

I'm curious as to whether people who consistently get general sale / resale tickets are also getting lower than average ballot success

It’s a fair question, especially given your own situation, but I’d be very surprised if the ballot is sophisticated enough to take that into account.

Don't imagine it's that difficult, quick bit of Googling shows that ticket balloting software usually has prioritisation or weighted randomness capabilities

If it does, then they’d probably save themselves a load of grief by using it to phase out the randomness and give a more even distribution of success (resale abilities aside).

What %  is shite though?

I’m not saying I think adult and child get like 50% or anything, still probably hovering around the 20% mark, but seems to be less instances of <10%.

Also, there’s still an element of randomness within it all. There will be some adult and child applicants down at really low success and some single adults at higher than average success. Whatever theories we all have, there’s clearly no silver bullet to applying successfully

Applied for all home games and was successful in 3.

That's exactly why I'm curious about comparing ballot success rates for people who are / aren't consistently getting general sale tickets

Maybe the club feels it's fairer if the software is programmed to deprioritise the ballot for members who are always successful in the 10am sales

One issue is that the sample size is so small over a football season. Even over 3 football seasons. You could win loads or lose loads in a row still.

Aye, it's not going to form the basis of an academic research paper on Statistics and Probability in the Age of Ballot Software Algorithms

But if the usual N-O suspects who always get general sale tickets, also get really low ballot success %'s vs people who only ever get tickets in the ballot, then it's food for thought innit

Or there might be absolutely no correlation and I'm just paranoid

Over 100k in the queue for Benfica tickets.

Absolutely bizarre given you have 24hrs to register and there’s no significant benefit to being on multiple devices.

Queue numbers seem questionable tbh.

Every time you join I guess you get a new number, so it's probably people leaving when they see the queue and join back again.

When you lot are getting tickets in the member sale are yous just buying 1, or managing to get 2 next to each other?

I always forget about the member sale, but the ballot seems fucking hopeless this season so im gonna have to give it a bash.

I think you generally have to be extremely fortunate to manage two together, but others will be better placed to comment.
