Give it a rest mate. By buying Ekitike, Liverpool have essentially given up on Isak this summer

Give what a rest. Did I say they were buying both? I’m just answering the point that in theory they can probably afford it.

It just seems absurd to ignore the overwhelming body of evidence suggesting Isak is not going Liverpool this window. The constant pivot to doom-mongering is ridiculous.

Liverpool have just spent €100m on Ekitike with a clear intention of playing him as a CF. It is ludicrous to suggest that Liverpool are now going to spend in excess of £150m on Isak to play him on the wing. If they do enter the winger market, depending on exits, they might go for Rodrygo

Calm down   If Ekitike goes then I don’t think Isak will

devils Advocate tho Liverpool need 2 strikers. Was fine for everybody that we could get both but it’s somehow outrageous that Liverpool might want both. There’s no suggestion at all Isak would be played on the wing. I do think the fees involved it will be one or the other tho

I'm fairly certain that Liverpool would not have acted so quickly on Ekitike if they were very confident that the door was still ajar on Isak.

Even if we were to entertain the fanciful idea that Liverpool now break the bank and buy Isak as well, it would surely be dependent on Nunez leaving the club first? Selling Nunez is proving to be complicated for Liverpool and may very well drag on late on into the window, in which case it'll be too late to make a credible approach for Isak.

If Liverpool are going to buy Isak, they better seal the deal quickly, because there's no way Newcastle go into a champions league season with Osula as their only recognised striker.

After this Ekitike news, the only feasible exit now would be if a Saudi Pro League club came in with a £250m offer.

A more realistic scenario is Isak signs a new 200k+ contract with the intention of allowing him to leave next summer if he wants out.

I'm sure he'll survive one more season of Champions League football with us

Stealing "Isaks replacement" (media words) from us doesn't exactly seem like a smart move if they were still hoping to maybe lure him from us, especially when getting Isak was already so difficult for them in the first place. Clearly they gave up on Isak?

But Sir, Liverpool fans said you cant have a 80 million+ player as a back-up.  Potentially a 150 m cf and a 80m back up. 😀

That isak statement by Howe is really worrying. Clubs don't do this, unless they are quite sure that the player is going to leave.

I’ve just had a look through your posts and seems you’re desperate for him to leave, I sniff a 14 year old scouser.

If they sell Diaz and Nunez for big money Isak is gone, I'm devastated he got sent home yesterday it's obvious he wants the move.

Probably he is unsettled and likely wants to move.  He's 26 and in peak of his career and best chance to win silverware.

I'm OK for him to leave but on OUR terms.

150m+ can be reinvested for a new CB and St.

They want a wide forward and a centre back still, they're not signing a €95 million striker to sit him on the bench or play him out of position.

agree on this. If his head has gone then sell on our terms, invest wisely and move on the best we can.

It still seems he may want the move and his head has been turned , let’s say for conversation wise it has - do wr keep another year and risk his value dropping as he’s down to two years and may not deliver like this year as his hearts not in It as much or do we sell now?

My preferred option would be to sell to the Saudis for £250 million

Midfielders: Szobozlai, Macallister, Gravenberch, Elliot, Jones, Endo, Bajcetic, Morten

Forwards: Salah, Diaz, Gakpo, Wirtz, Nunez, Chiesa

They are looking to sell Elliot, Endo  Morten, Nunez, Diaz and Chiesa to fund more transfers. Spunking most of it on Isak is going to leave them with little to no squad depth. They also need another CB as they only have VVD, Konate and Gomez.

lol yeah but he’s not gonna go to Saudi, being at the top of his game seems to drive him - Miggy didn’t want to go so there’s no way Isaks going to. Real or something like that would be my choice. I suspect he wants to stay in the prem as the game seems to suit him more but no one is going to pay his proper value.

If he’s not on the plane to the far east then I’ll be concerned but I still say he stays for a season. Howe confirmed no official approach from Liverpool so they’ve clearly tried to unsettle the player and we’ll know soon enough if his head has been turned.

I think he gives us one more season then goes. We can’t actually afford to lose him this summer though.

Lads, he's not being sold. Why have you moved to the fantasising about the money stage now?

Probably because he's unsettled and Eddie sent hom home yesterday.
