True but that dosnt give Isak the right to act the twat . Is ways of going about getting a transfer and he has done it all wrong and shown zero respect to the club or fans . He should have been told to get on the tour, and if he didn't, then he would be fined. Absolutely nonsensical this didn't happen

He probably won't care about being fined when he is getting his 300k a week at Liverpool. Edited July 30, 2025 by Geogaddi

TRon
We really need to make a stand on whether we are keeping Isak or not because lack of clarity affects the price. If we take the plunge and buy two strikers to cover our bases, then Liverpool know we have to sell and that lowers the price. Even buying one striker depends on whether we are keeping Isak or replacing him. You can sort of see why we are stuck between two stools at the moment. Collage
Winning the league cup is fine and well, but a player like Isak wants league titles and chance at winning the CL. He sees what we all see, that this ”project” has slowed down. Add that he was promised a new contract that Mitchell then dismissed. Unfortunately it’s not hard to see a player like Isak in his prime wanting to leave this club at this time. It’s just infuriating if it’s Liverpool. How on gods green earth can you consider it's slowed down, we've just had our best season in living memory, we're way ahead of the curve. If anything is going to possibly slow us down it's Isak himself, more of a derailment than a slow down tbh.

We have no CEO, no sporting director after loosing 2 the last years. No stadium update, no training facility update. So far no real «purple» signings to match Isaks ambitions. If you do not see that we are loosing momentum off the field you either don’t want or are naive.

Displayname
Think Isak wanting to leave has more to do with Liverpool than Newcastle tbh. Looking at it objectively its hard to deny that it's a really attractive destination atm.

christ
I wonder if there’s something going on behind the scenes in tandem with the transfer speculation? Bruno made that odd comment about him going through a hard time, the kid gloves approach Howe and the club appear to have taking to dealing with what looks like unprofessional behaviour, him (allegedly) fucking back off to Sweden. The entire thing feels very off.

Personally, all I care about is results on the field and we've exceeded anything in my lifetime (and I'm old). As for "purples" we tried but got gazumped by the cartel, not a lot we can do about that. Stadium/training centre are major infrastructure projects and take a lot of time to progress. The only people getting regular updates will be the board/shareholders anyone working on it will be under cast iron NDA's. I also suspect the new CEO will want some input and sign off given he's resposible for delivering strategy/vision. What Eales might have thought was a great idea, the new guy might not, and he'll be responsible for delivering it. We've been doubling our commercial revenue year on year, don't know about yr end 25 numbers yet, that's progress. Preposterous to say otherwise given the external constraints placed upon us. Looking at it objectively its hard to deny that it's a really attractive destination atm. I reckon it's about his pay, he's seriously underpaid. He's our best player, but he doesn't get the most money. We should've doubled his wage last season, and we wouldn't be in this mess. All the clubs knew Newcastle wouldn't sell Isak unless it was a crazy offer. Romano, Ornstein, all of them said Newcastle would be tough to deal with for Isak. Instead, they went to Isak and said he's one of the best in the world. They offered him a wage to match his status. 300k a week. Of course, his head will have been turned. The golden rule in business is to protect your investment, no matter what. We didn't do that last summer, huge mistake. If Man United bids 150 for him and offers him 350k, he's gone, I reckon. So, if we don't sell him, and pay him what he deserves, he'll sign. Eddie said it's up to the board now to figure out what to do with Isak. Let's see how if Isak really is Yasir's favourite player.
