He's a 1 in 2 striker with all the tools to be closer to 1 in 1. His stats are far better than 1 in 2. Not sure what your deal is with Isak, recently - I don’t know whether it’s a defence of Eddie or what. Just tell it like it is, it went tits up. It's the 2nd time he's did it already this season mind, he deserves the criticism for it. Some people are going too far of course, considering we'd be utter fucked without Isak this season. Especially when he's directly involved in 9 of our 19 PL goals.

I know it was a bad miss, but with players of that type you will get those. There's a school of thought which is strikers should just hit the target which works for those who can hit the ball like a rocket. But there's another level of striker who passes it into the net and beats the keeper through precision or making the keeper go the wrong way. Isak is more that type. Although he can hit them 70mph when he needs to as we saw on Wednesday.

His ratio is 0.51 I have no deal with Isak, it's more getting annoyed at the idea that any suggestion he could improve is off-limits, when it's open season for everyone else regardless of their achievements at the club. He's missed a fair few huge chances, saying he could have done better isn't controversial. The same criticism applies to Gordon, he just doesn't have the record to excuse him as much. Eveready
Personally, I'm not going to blame him for cocking up a chance he created entirely himself by chasing down a lost ball.

I think we can all agree he’s demonstrably brilliant at his job. Figures and what we see on the pitch. Any implication he’s part of the problem is bullshit. Keggy_Keagal
There's a lot of challenges the club has to deal with at the moment. Isak's performances aren't one of them.

Nepharite
I still insist that Isak would be better utalised as a 2nd striker around a target-man. He's so effective picking the ball up deep/wide and driving forward. Edited December 8 by Nepharite

mondonewc
Selling him for 100m would be fucking nuts, we paid 60 odd million for him, since then he's gone on to prove himself to be one of the best strikers in the world, that's not even debatable, and he's still on a long contract. Add in the fact there's a huge lack of world class strikers right now, I wouldn't even go to the table for less than 150m. We should do everything possible to keep him, every other person at the club is replaceable, Isak is absolutely irreplaceable, we have no chance of signing anyone close to his level, we should tell every club HE'S NOT FUCKING LEAVING!!! I believe they've never left. Gyökeres, Delap, Boniface, Osimehn & Lewendovski. You could make an argument for Haaland too. They just aren't called "target men" any more. Menace
No, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's been outstanding this season. Most of our "key players" have been shite.
Ronaldo
He’s an outstanding footballer and you’ve only got to use your eyes to see that. Since coming back from injury this season his figures have been outstanding and his figures overall are outstanding. I really don’t know why this discussion is being had. Keggy_Keagal
All strikers miss chances. Always have done . There wasn't footage of Pele or Jimmy Greaves having a shitter and spooning one over the bar but they did. The important thing is the best ones score a fuckton of goals , even in rubbish or underperforming teams.

Keggy_Keagal
Point proven. Feel sorry for Jason Lee though. Sure I heard an interview with Frank Clark where he said before Baddiel and Skinner started having a go Lee was 11 goals in 20 games. Then his game went to absolute shit after it
duo
Isak has been feeding off scraps this season, his misses are only amplified due to the lack of clear cut chances we are creating for him.
alexf
Yeah he's missed the odd chance but agreed he has been starved of service. Don't remember a single time we played him in 2nd half against Brentford. It's more annoying when it's visible he's looking sharp but we can't get him the ball in areas to do damage. My only criticism of him, if you can even call it that, is his fitness record. It's been very stop start and it's the only thing that hurts his value. Because when he's fit and on form he really is top 3/4 strikers (no.9s) in the world for me. What would make it worse if he was sold is that he would look even better in a Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool or even Chelsea team. Because they create a lot more generally and keep the ball better than we do. Too many times for us, especially away from home he is just isolated and starved of the ball.
