Yankuba Minteh (now playing for Brighton & Hove Albion)

Recommended Posts

A potential player here, surprised and delighted to see him start in a CL game and he looked assured and unfazed at the occasion.

Thought Feyenoord had some lovely attacking play, was actually more entertained by the game than the Newcastle result. Less emotion invested and I could just enjoy the football on display.

His inclusion as the center forward was an emergency measure. The main striker (Gimenez) was suspended and the first replacement option got injured in the internationals. Physically Minteh looks more suited to be a wide forward too. I don’t expect he will make that center forward position his own, especially after yesterday’s performance and due to the fact Gimenez is a far superior #9.

Yeah he’s defo not a 9 - more of a RWF

For him to be playing CL football is just incredible - if he continues this way it will be a fantastic loan - I wouldn’t even mind another season at Feyenoord - Dutch football really suits his game

Our boy starting away to Ajax this afternoon. Getting some great experience this past week.

I might watch a bit of that, at least until the start of the NL derby. it's on Mola TV here at 1.30pm and I downloaded the app towards the back end of last season. Great experience as you say, CL and then a big grudge match today. Massive match particularly for Ajax, they're already 10 points behind PSV at the top and already in danger of that becoming an insurmountable lead.

Said in midweek - if things are going as good as this you might see him spend a few years here

The club folded to the fans demands immediately and sacked Mislintat (Technical Director) within hours of the game being called off. The coach he hired and the dogshit players he signed remain, including Chuba Akpom whom they gave Boro twelve millions euros for.

They have, indeed, been on a spiral since Overmars got punted, and Van der Sar's brain haemorrhage probably didn't help, but they've had the problem for years that they're still run like a sports club and not a multi-million euro business. Cruyff's velvet revolution can probably bear a huge amount of the blame for this: it only works when it works, and when things turn to shite you end up with everything descending into club bar politicking nonsense unbefitting of a club of their size.

And you know, there is an endless supply of prematurely-bald men with farmers' tans and quilted jackets, but not all of them all are elite football coaches. Time for a rethink on that front, time to hire some cunt with a full head of hair and a clue about coaching.

Akpom sighted, as Steijn subbed him on almost immediately after the game recommenced this afternoon. Didn't help much as Feyenoord ended the game 4-0, and Ajax ended the game 14th in the league.

I've tried my hardest to get into Ajax, being my local club and all, but have to admit to finding this fucking hilarious.

Living in Schiedam just off Rotterdam aye. Not particularly a fan of any Dutch club though. If you'd put a gun to my head I'd probably say Feyenoord now, although grew up supporting PSV, mainly because my father supports them and they were mint when I grew up (Romario, original Ronaldo era).
