Because seemingly. Our midfield somehow revolves around Longstaff being really good out of possession. Tonali can’t do that as well or isn’t doing it as well, currently. Albeit a small sample size and he came out the side before we switched back to the Big Joe/Little Joe combo.

We’ve hardly been dominant in the midfield all season with or without him. First hour against Brighton he was very good and so was the midfield, from memory. Forest away with Longstaff. Can’t think of many others.

I'd go with something like that use big joe as a battering ram in the 10 will also help isak out having another player to play off.

In this case I'd like to see Willock behind Isak with Joelinton to the left.

You need footballing intelligence to play in that ‘10’ role.  Almiron - who does have other qualities and is a hard bloke to dislike - is one of the least intelligent forwards I’ve seen in B&W.  Football-wise anyway - he might have an IQ of 170 for all I know.

It was my main takeaway from being at a match, which you don't see from watching the tv. Trippier constantly has to tell Almiron where he has to be. Made me really dislike Miggy as a player.

You'll find Trippier does that whoever is with him even at International level.

I know he likes to organise people, but this was next level hand holding.

Aye, Almiron is the epitome of what I call a 'head-down' player, Ritchie and Maxi the most recent players before him.  These are players that only have their head up when they are about to receive the ball, then cannot operate unless they're looking at the ball at their feet. If they get space with the ball, they'll then look up for options - a pass, a cross or a shot. Unless something is very close and obvious, it's very limiting for a team as it doesn't really matter what options teammates give them. PL-level players should be able to retain the ball whilst looking for options imo.

Surely this stamps his name on the team sheet, he's been class

Bad result or two and the Sean Longstaff propaganda machine (the north east press) will be targeting him.

The worrying thing is we’ve seen it for weeks, Eddie hasn’t.

Some will probably try to tell you that Tonali is playing like this because Howe had him on the bench last few games, so this somehow proves that he managed him perfectly. As if he wasn't a good player before he was benched.
